Thank you Albert, we can only hope for the best right? Couldn't be worse than what we've had to endure all these years.

Being a European, it was nerve wrecking to see the discussions about the health plan in the US for the past year(s). Last night it was the final countdown and only the votes counted.
I have to congratulate all our American friends. Don't let the morbid stories from the anti-Public health care fool you. In the (so called "socialist") Netherlands we don't know anything else than that the strongest shoulders carry the biggest load. Everyone pay about 100 euro (dollars) per month for their health insurance (children are free). Hospitals are (by law) forced to treat everyone (insurance or no insurance).
You still have many choices: a basic package covers the basic needs (dentalcare, broken things, cancer, etc.). Your "own risk" part of the medical bill depends on the insurance you take and may vary from the (by law) minimum of 165 euros (a year) to a few hundred euros more (and pay about 70 euros per month).
And the government has nothing to say about where you insure yourself and how the insurancemoney is spend. You can also still decide what doctor you want to visit, or which hospital to go to. You have lots of choice. These choices aren't forced upon us by the government.
Don't fear the horrible future that channels like Fox News draws for their audience. Talking about Fox News: I know that channel very well and it's the most horrifying thing I've ever witnessed. I pity all people relying on that garbage as their sole news source.

Thank you very much Albert, I watched this unfold last night, CNN carried the whole process. It was exciting. Thanks again my friend for being so thoughtful.![]()
I dream a world where man no other man
will scorn. Where LOVE will bless the earth
and peace its paths adorn...
Obama is a socialist who is tearing our Constitution apart in order to rebuild this nation into his own reflection. Government has no business in the private sector. He wants government to have total control of every aspect of our lives.
November is coming and so is the day of accountability for those who voted YES on this Bill and Obama`s groupies who continue to do his bidding.

Never get to a place in life where you think you`re better than someone else.
I disagree with the above post........give the man a chance

The man is a socialist. He has no respect for the U.S. Constitution and no respect for the views and opinions of the American people. He wants government to control every aspect of our lives...first General Motors (Obama Motors) was taken over and now the health care system. I`m mad as hell over this and every American who enjoys their freedom should be. This health care Bill mandates that the American people buy a product against their Will, this is a direct violation of the Constitution.
I do not disagree that the health care system needs fixing but this Bill is not the way to go. I`ve said my peace and now I`ll leave.....![]()

Thank you, Albert. You're very thoughtful. I think it's a good thing.
I've talked to people from several countries that have the same care as you .
Now, I can add you to my list. IMO, this will help our country, not as others say.
We have Medicaid & Medicare . That's ran by our Gov. No one wants that touched.
Believe the nay sayers will be pleased in a few years when we catch up to the rest of the world.![]()

My husband is a retired/disabled Navy Veteran who is listed as 100% disabled. I know Government run health care very well. I want no part of it.![]()

.................
This is not the place for this, IMO. But, I've read & heard all the things you posted.
Believe what you like but, I know many are helped by the programs already set up.
Ask any of the complainers if they're willing to give up Medicare ,Medicaid or their Vet. benefits.
You'll see & hear how much they holler then.![]()
Congrats! I think it's great news!I just wonder why it took so long..
franny
Michigan is trying to get an exemption for the state......now you know why we want out.....one more thing to make life as miserable as possible along with no jobs and high prices for services etcThis isn't California where you get something for your money......

I was ecstatic to hear that this went through. A truly great day for the US.
It's unfortunate that some Americans still have a McCarthyist freak-out at the very suggestion that a few of their hard-earned dollars might benefit someone worse-off than themselves.
I find it very sad that there's still so much hatred, violence , prejudice & yes, ignorance in our country.
As a kid,I can remember being proud of being a US citizen. I had to grow up.
I thought we'd made progress; evidently not as much as I thought.
Last time I read the Constitution, ALL people were created equal.
IMO, being able to see a doctor & be treated should be one of our priviledges .
Thanks for the congrats, Albert. Looks like we've still got a long ways to go.
