AT FULL FORCE (Dallas '76) - The worst re-release of all time!!!

    KB's review: Sorry guys, I received my copy today, and all I can say is D I S A S T E R !

I tried to compare it with the "A Hot Winter Night In Dallas" and the result is tragic. "At Full Force" is not listenable, the sound is muffled, distant and the output level is tooo low... It sounds like a 10-th generation copy of "A Hot Winter Night In Dallas". It even lacks the d*mn force... It's ironic since the title is "At Full Force"...

Why did they even release the cd when they knew that the result is horrible?

All in all, I spent my hard earned 25 euros on the useless cd, and the guys behind the Audionics label simply LIED when they mentioned the sound improvement.

How, for Christ's sake, in 21th century with all the sound devices available someone can screw the sound sooo bad??? Bloody amateurs!

So once again, the sound is pure sh*t, and in my opinion it's not even good for the people who don't have the old Baxter boot. I'll try to sell my copy, but I wouldn't pay more than 10 euros for that c.r.a.p.

And I'll think twice before I buy an Audionics cd with the 'improved sound' next time.

My advice to everyone - avoid it like the plague!

Have you listened to the sound samples?

Your words make it sound a bit harsh my friend, but I do have to agree that the sound is nowhere near the original release. It's too high pitched this time around.

For the record, a lot of fans do not have the original imports, so in that case this might be a welcome addition. But I have never encountered a re-release by any label that was better than the one released earlier.

i sure appreciate this info and it seems many have the same view on the bad sound quality , i have all the original baxter cd's and i'm glad i do , i feel for fans when they get duped like this and i'm sure surprised at audionics i believe they are scraping the bottom of the barrel, again many thanks for the info.

After listening to this release, I agree that the sound quality is quite disappointing as compared to the quality found on the "Hot Winters Night In Dallas" cd

Hopefully when FTD releases this show later this year, the sound will be much more improved

I can't agree here, sorry. There are a few re-releases that sounds much better than the first releases.
Madison's ONE NIGHT ONLY! sounds much better than THE POWER OF ZHAZAM!
Madison's OPENING NIGHT-JANUARY 1970 sounds much better than TRUE LOVE TRAVELS ON THE GRAVEL ROAD.
Madison's CLOSING NIGHT-FEBRUARY 1970 sounds much better than TRUE LOVE TRAVELS ON THE GRAVEL ROAD.
Gravel Road's GET DOWN & DIRTY sounds much better than GET DOWN & GET WITH IT.

    Listen to the sound samples:

http://www.epgold.com/news/Baxter%20...p%20sample.wav (GET DOWN & GET WITH IT)

    http://www.epgold.com/news/Gravelroa...mple%20%20.wav (GET DOWN & DIRTY)

Sometimes the sound is improved on the new releases.
But you're right that in most cases it's about the same (and sometimes it's even worse!)

Re: AT FULL FORCE (Dallas '76) - The worst re-release of all time!!!

I never had the chance to purchace the original Fort Baxter and bought the Audionics.Being a new member since only two day ago, I now had the opportunity to listen to the soundsamples. Must admit the FB sounds better in this way ( just my {humble} opinion ) : the output-signal of the FB is stronger .But I wouln't say the Audionics is a disaster as some claim, although I respect their opinion. All in all I'm glad I own this CD . [B] Better to have this one than nothing at all !!! And another point : the music of the soundsamples has been compressed ( Mp3 ), so playing the Cd on my music equipment, which, by the way, is not top top top notch, but after all a good one in general, I'm not disappointed . Why ? To me, the bass, treble and midrange tones sound OK, our man's voice is nice in front ( not too much ) , backing vocals and band (TCB as well as Joe's) sound acceptable and I hear no distortion . As Sonny wrote : for those who missed the FB : after all a good welcome addition . Now let's hope FTD brings this out in (hopefully) even better sound than FB did. Just my opinion guys, just my opinion, and no-one has to agree ! All the best to all the members of this nice site. Regards from Belgium .Always El.
    Benny.

My husband presented me with this CD. I put it into the CD player. But after 5 minutes i took it out and gave it to my dog to play with.
He likes to play with such crappy things.

It's ideal to use 'At Full Force' as a coaster.

You may also play frisbee with it. Give it to your dog and he will be happy with it.

You can use it on many different ways. But it's not suitable for listening to.

hello, it's nothing special, I made the comparison of the fort baxter, and again, nothing special, but very nice package and image.

Re: AT FULL FORCE (Dallas '76) - The worst re-release of all time!!!

Nothing special, other that the sound quality is much worse than on the Fort Baxter CD.
An attractive little booklet won't change this FACT,Jean Francois.
The sound samples can't lie,but you can.

My hearing OK. Your language isn't ! The copy I own is very listenable on my Sony CD-player,my Technics amplifier and my B & W speakers.
Did it ever occur to you that something might have gone wrong during the pressing of this CD and many bad copies saw the light of day ? Maybe I got a "good" one, one of the few ? Think before you start personal attacks and try to make people look ridiculous, lady. ( lady ???) Alays El.

    Search and you will find

There really are some re-releases where the sound has actually been improved. I don't know one out of my head, but will look for it. I'll be back buddy

This is a disgusting CD,no matter what.
Never buy it otherwise you will regret it. Just a good advice...
Let's hope FTD will re-release it. If not, then try to get the original Fort Baxter CD (A Hot Winter Night In Dallas).

I have purchased this re release although I have the original Ft. Baxter. I don't understand what is being said here. Mine sounds awesome!. It is very possible some disc's had problems. If that is the case maybe you should return them for a replacement. I have been told the two guy's who put out this release have since had a big falling out with each other and are bashing one another on message boards.
