Just found this on ElvisNews.com:
ElvisMatters spoke exclusively to Jerry Schilling, former Elvis aid and closely involved in the making of "Elvis On Tour" in 1972. Jerry confirmed that the DVD will be released later this year, but there will be NO extras. The movie is property of Warner Bros while the outtakes are owned by Turner Classics. Both parties tried to come to an agreement, but unfortunately the negotiations were unsuccesful.
Can't say as I'm surprised about this. As I mentioned before, I highly doubted that the ELVIS ON TOUR DVD would contain any extras...now they will have an excuse to release a "special edition" DVD later on down the road when suddenly an agreement can be reached over the outtakes.

I dream a world where man no other man
will scorn. Where LOVE will bless the earth
and peace its paths adorn...
This is a crying shame that more isn't going to be done with it.................it beggers belief that outtakes etc....cannot be released too.............

Yes business is business... and eventually the outtakes will come out on some SE disc set after the "terrible impasse" between Turner and Warners is bridged!![]()
Work in Progress!
I was considering getting a blu-ray player especially for this............might not bother now!!!!

The original film without extras should be stunning in Blu-ray if it's cleaned up properly. However it's mind-boggling the release will not feature extras after the time it's taken to finally set a release date – I bought a Blu-ray player already in anticipation and I hope I'm not disappointed – WARNER BROS Blu-rays are usually top class so roll on the fall!!
Some of you all never been down South too much...
I'm gonna tell you a little story, so you'll understand where I'm talking about
Money, Money, Money, That is their bottom line.
From one side it's a shame but I can understad that when we're talking about money everyone wants his parts
Anyway from the other side we can watch a DVD version of the movie and I can't complain now![]()
Any mention if the video to dvd transfer has been cleaned up and the original film source was used? A well cleaned up transfer is essential otherwise one may as well watch the video version. There would be no difference other than the fact that it is available on dvd as opposed to tape. As one poster mentioned, it would truly be wonderful if a well, cleaned up transfer were made available on Blu Ray![]()
This I hadn't considered. It makes sense.Originally Posted by Jungleroom76

...you won't forget me when I go.
I wonder, is that I do with my dvd on tour, it is time to ensure that the fact remains that it's in concert 1977![]()
nice to have the DVD but sad and stupid that we can't have extras
I'm just so p***** off at all of the selfish, greedy(childish it's mine and you can't have it!) super rich fat cats hoarding away all of the amazing footage and audio and the millions( or is it billions!!!!!)of fans and admirers that are missing out on so much happiness and enjoyment and can't enjoy what is just gathering dust and not making one body happy as it would and should be!!!!! Elvis performed for his fans and family and wanted to share and did share that amazing incredible talent so that everybody that loves him could experience what this world dearly needs, the many and awesome talents of Elvis Aron Presley!!!!!
P.S. I'll for now hope that the DVD as it is going to be released will be spectacular in quality and that after this they'll with their selfishness put out a DVD with all of the extras, which is what they should be doing now,or at least they should have one extra!!!!!![]()
well, at least there's Jailhouse Rock and Viva Las Vegas on blu ray - although those extras sorta blew.
if EOT blu ray doesn't have extras, then I am probably going to pass
I am sick of Elvis being poorly marketed and the fans treated like ATM machines.
I think EPE and the Studios have a lot of nerve to complain about bootlegs when they aren't willing to put out the product fans want
to not include extras - especially on blu ray - is actually unthinkable for any release
Can't believe I will have to sit through that old guy telling me how Elvis leaves the building again! There's 2 minutes I'll never get back.
Still at least we will have it on DVD![]()

Gotta love the consistency of those corporate ****ers! They prefer to have something like this to be unreleased to the public, not giving the fans what they want, than to receive less money. So instead of a little of something, they prefer to have all of nothing.
This only shows more and more that the business behind Showbusiness is more ill (through and through) than ever.
By the way: thanks to selfish assholes like these, the import (bootleg) scene will never die. I don't consider releasing the outtakes through the importscene as criminal. Withholding things like this to the public is criminal. The costs of Elvis On Tour were already earned back in 1972. They never had video releases (VHS/dvd/bluray) in their mind back then. So asbusing the rights as owner (Warner Bros) in order to get even more money is just plain.... mind blowing.... fortunately I am naive in that matter.
