He doesn't look to me like he is sitting on Minnie's grave. In my opinion the only wrong thing he did was breaking a rule by jumping the fence which was in fact there before Elvis got buried, and the majority of graves in cemeteries don't have. It's my understanding that this guy is an Elvis fan, so even though I wouldn't do it, I don't think his intention was to be disrespectful to Elvis or his family buried there.

    Re: No respect

The reason for the fence is to keep people away from the graves, and that being the case this guy overstepped the bounds of acceptance. He may have meant no disrespect to Elvis but he disrespected the rules which any business or institution can lawfully post for visiting their establishment. If you don't like the rules of someplace-complain to the proper places but IMO you should not just decide to ignore them.

Doesn't look like he is sitting on the grave but he should abide by the rules and stay where it's allowed.

    Re: No respect

I agree. There is a reason that fence is there. I have never stepped on someone else's grave. My dad always told me it was disrespectful to do so. I would be very upset if I saw someone sitting or standing on my mom or my daughter's grave. I know that guy was just trying to feel closer to Elvis but I do think it's disrespectful.

This came from the FECC forum.
Yes it was inappropriate but he is a genuine (and enthusiastic) fan, no disrespect was intended and I'm sure he now realises the error in judgment.

    Re: No respect

I think unless your family you should stay behind the fence. Roseanne did it very tastefully.

    Re: No respect

as for Rosanne, she is being very respectful. The guy shouldn't have overstepped the iron fence thingy.lol.When i pass a grave i always walk about 6 feet in front of where the body lies. i always have.

I would imagine the majority of people are respectful. You always get the exceptions though!

I don't think he did it maliciously, he comes across as a bit 'exuberant'

All his Memphis pics he had taken, sightings etc....he had with himself on them.........

yes because He is carefully keeping his topcoat's back side tight on his azz with his elbows so that makes his azz look square as siting on the grave.

    I totally agree.

    Re: No respect

I see no malice here. I think he just wanted to pay his respects and to take home a pic of himself honoring Elvis in a loving manner. Had he done something such as actually sit on Dodger's grave or make a disrespectful gesture of some sort, then that would have been different. I know there are boundaries and that they have those rules for reasons...but I can sort of understand his desire to be close to the grave. When we visit graves of those we love, it is not at all unusual for us to crouch down at the graveside and pay our respects. I think he was doing just that! May have broke the rules, but hey, we all have at one point or another!

Daddy, I miss you more every day. You will always be my hero..
