Allways keep your Elvis vinyls why? you ask,

Well it like this i was playing on of my movie soundtracks i think it was
Girl Happy, and some of the song's i can here something that i never heard before, at the end of of the song when they fad out- of a track some times i could hear Elvis talking at the end some time you hear him luaghing, or
you can here them saying (its a take).

you don't hear these thing on today cd album's they left them out.
i'll try to put them on here one day this week to let you hear.

this is why i love vinyls so much because of this.
i just like to pass this along.

I know that's not the only reason, Curtis, but it's cool to hear that one of yours. I must not be playing mine loud enough, because I think I've been missing out on some of that stuff!

I have lots of small, semi-trivial reasons for loving to play my records, but the combined effect of them all makes it impossible for me to not be a huge vinyl fan.

One of those little details: I love to hear the sound coming from the needle.

I hear mine with head phones on, this is a good way to hear lot of this,
and playing Elvis with head phones on you never miss anything, eveing
playing some of his concert albums.

That's certainly true of listening through headphones in general, but I actually rarely do so when I'm playing my vinyl.

A while back I listened to my Raised On Rock CD through headphones, and the difference in clarity was remarkable.

I keep an eye out all the time for Elvis records at 2nd hand shops. I also like listening to them, but I love the covers.

You can't beet those cover's on thoes lp's.
and i wish that the cds have nice cover's like the lp's version.

but i wish they didn't delete the lp's.
they should delete the tapes.

and keep they vinyl in the market.

Yes he did, and also on the frist pressing of the cd with the other tracks.
on the 70s masters box set it was re-moved and on the new promised land
cd upgrade why they done this i really don't know.

they say they don't miss with Elvis music, but they do, i could tell when they starting missing with his music.
and to me it is wrong very wrong.

even on the Promised land song they re-moved his over dubbed on the 70s box set and the upgrade cd.

but not on the old version of they album
same goes on the song 'It's midnight" they re-move Elvis overdubb voice
on the 70s masters box set and the new upgrade cd.

why they do this, i really don't know, but i wish they just leave things alone.
this is way i love the old mix better then some of the new mix's we have now.

it is very Interesting stuff when you hear what you been missing with today mix's, there's a lot of people like me notice these thing when playing Elvis music.

even when you play "Mama liked the rose's" from the camden album to today's
cd mix's at the end of the song on the vinyl version you can hear Humming
to the song at the end of the fad out, but this is the mono version, but on the 60s masters and other cd albums you dont hear this they re-move it has well.

you can hear the original version from the christmas camden album and the re-cd version, the cd version of the camden is the origianl mix from the master

and they didn't do nothing with the master tape.
so there is big difference when you play two difference mix's

I got rid of all my vinyl in the mid 80's. Haven't missed it yet!!!

I don't play them often but I'd never sell a single-copy record.
As Curtis mentioned, they seem to pick up different things.
Have you noticed the `hoo-har' sounds at the end of I Can Help, that dound to me like a karate kick noise.

I still have all my vinyl, but all it does is bite dust. I don't use LP's anymore, but I don't think about selling them yet.

I haven't had my record player hooked up in years, because I have just had no place to keep it....but in terms of why you should keep your Elvis albums....

Aside from the obvious increase in value for Elvis' vinyl albums over the years, there is just something so cool about putting an Elvis record on the turntable, dropping that needle and listening to the crackles and snaps on the record right before the music starts....there is just something so nostalgic about listening to an Elvis record!!!

I really should hook it up....it has been YEARS since I've actually sat down and listened to an Elvis album ON VINYL!!!! I keep talking about how great it is to listen to an original vinyl album....I guess now I should actually do it!!

I know this is an old thread but.... yesterday I saw someone had a Elvis Moody Blue 78 LP on Ebay and he wanted $100 for it. I had to laugh and I went and got some of mine out and sure enough I have Moody Blue. It is in it's original sleeve and the blue record (just as the one on Ebay) I thought there is no way I would pay $100 for it.

But I did play it on my old record player... Wow!!!! Vinyl is still the greatest sound in the world. I have not heard Unchained Melody sang like that for years... Truely Awesome... Way Down... Awesome all the songs had great quality sound to them.

After listening to Cd's and DVD's for so long I was amazed at the great sound the old Vinyl's have. the guy on Ebay does not have a bidder yet and I see has some pretty negative feedback.

Just wanted had to share that... No comparison on the sound!!

Believe it or not, I once saw the blue vinyl version in the paper in Memphis during Elvis week for sale for $800.00. It looks cool but what people don't realize is that it is not the one that is valuable, the black vinyl is. I think there might have even been pressings of a mottled color and white too . Anyway, I guess it boils down to being worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Anyway, I love vinyl. I guess, for me, it's a tangible part of my past because when I get to feeling a bit melancholy, I bring them out and play them. Love the large covers and inserts that always came with them. Even if they are a bit scratched, no other medium compares to that warm LP sound. Maybe it's just because I was brought up with them though.
