Allways keep your Elvis vinyls why? you ask

Believe it or not, I once saw the blue vinyl version in the paper in Memphis during Elvis week for sale for $800.00. It looks cool but what people don't realize is that it is not the one that is valuable, the black vinyl is. I think there might have even been pressings of a mottled color and white too . Anyway, I guess it boils down to being worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Wow $800.... crazzzy huh? I have seen the black vinyl too but did not know that it was more valuable. Thanks for letting me know that. I have seen many people in here (and other sites) talking about the vinyl sounding better and just didn't believe it. They were right on the money!!!! If I wouldn't of seen that on Ebay I probably would not have gotten it out and listened to it.

Truthfully MenWithBrokenHearts, I would not pay the $100 for it... makes you wonder who would .....but like you say it boils down to how bad you want it.. Thanks Dovey

I would never get rid of my vinyl it is Elvis history and it has taken me to long to collect. I enjoy now and then listening to him on my record player and remembering the first times I heard each song.
Its true the black Moody Blue is the more valuble than the blue and there is suppose to be a" mottled vinyl "out there somewhere.

Thanks KPM, You are right the old vinyl's are great and I am so happy that I decided to listen to them again. Really big difference in the sound.

I also have some old 8 tracks.... not sure if they still play or not but guess I will have to try them out too. (I never throw anything away!!! ) Dovey

Well it like this i was playing on of my movie soundtracks i think it was
Girl Happy, and some of the song's i can here something that i never heard before, at the end of of the song when they fad out- of a track some times i could hear Elvis talking at the end some time you hear him luaghing, or
you can here them saying (its a take).

you don't hear these thing on today cd album's they left them out.
i'll try to put them on here one day this week to let you hear.

this is why i love vinyls so much because of this.
i just like to pass this along.

Great to know this Curtis my man, here is one for you, do you have the vinyl copy of 'Elvis via sat' in there somewhere you can hear E saying to it must be Charlie 'That one there man' it was when E was going through his 'some guys out to kill me' thing, check it out i could not work it out at first, but after a few listens there it was...

I have a very large collection of Elvis Lp's and I wouldn't give them up for anything not even $800 for my blue vinyl Moody Blue. I believe that's right that the black one is the most valuable and that there are a couple of other coloured ones and the mottled one.

I also like the sound quality of the vinyl better than the CD's and love putting on my Lp's. I'm trying to put together a good system with a high quality turntable but they seem to be hard to find these days. Anyone have any idea where they still carry them?

curtis and I have talked before about vinyls. I know he's a great lover of the vinyls. He's given me some help on the ones I have. I've never before checked into the costs and the rarity of these things. Dovey, was talking about listening to the Blue Album. I, too, have a few of them. I haven't pulled out a vinyl in years. I, rarely, listen to Elvis' music. I have to be in the right mind set.

Ya'll have me wanting to pull out some of my records, now.
