To be honest I can't make a list of 5 favourites artists 'cause I like too many.

I listen to every kind of music and I like many singers and groups...I could only put the number one (ELVIS) but I wouldn't be able to decide the others positions!

Anyway, some of my favourites after Elvis are: Frank Sinatra, Michael Bubl?, Robbie Williams, Elton John, The Queen, Bon Jovi, Abba, Lenny Kravitz, Johnny Cash, Eros Ramazzotti, George Michael, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Coldplay,Bee Gees, U2 and many many others...

    5. The queen

I'd have to agree with most of your choices. Bon Jovi, Robbie Williams, Chilli Peppers, Johnny Cash etc. They're all great artists.

    2)The Beatles
    3)THe Jimi Hendrix Experience
    4)Pearl Jam
    5)Radiohead

    Solo Artists

    1)Neil Young

    old-timey music

I just needed a new list. I had an older one prior to this, so feel free to complain about me cheating (the previous one has been deleted).

If it's for non-classical music, I think my list looks should be like this:

    1. Elvis (of course)
    2. Hank Williams sr.
    3. Johnny Cash (anyone heard 'My Mother's Hymn Book'?)
    4. Bing Crosby
    5. Roy Orbison

I guess I just can't stop loving that good old-timey music - all these people in my top 5 have passed away. The only recently made country I can stand are perhaps Billy Gilman and renditions by older people who stayed alive - Willie Nelson (man, I love storytellers), Dolly Parton (she's from an older generation too and I think she IS gifted, though I won't listen to her all the time) and of course Jerry Lee Lewis (do they still call him 'the Killer'?).

I like jazz too. Louis Armstrong was special. I think he could have been fascinating working together with a guy like Elvis. Anyway, there are lotsa more artists I do like, but a majority has passed away.

I feel drawn to that good old-timey music, I must admit. If it's for bands/groups, I'd have to give a thumbs-up for the Carter Family. They knew a lot about picking and singing for sure.

I guess my peers would consider me a fool for liking that good old-timey music. I'm proud to love that stuff, anyway I try to look at it.
all the goons I left behind,
    memories still linger..

Thank you! That post is a few yrs. old - it's good when artists reach maturity in good health and spirits though.

If you take Elvis for example - it never got boring; always reinventing his act.

There's not a fake artist among your selection. Very nice!
