Yes it was a bad scene... JD Sumner was so upset he practically attacked Dee physically.... he was so mad.
Even her the Stanley boys thought their mom had gone off the deep end.
No publisher would publish her garbage and it never got beyond this show.

i remember it well and have an ol vhs tape of it , joe esposito and jd sumner were very good to put the lies to rest with jd saying that his mind couldn't even go there, but he did not attack dee physicaly. It was a deal that dee and the enquirer had come up with, dee and her boys have clearly shown throughout the years that they will do or say anything for money.

I don't remember reading it in the book she did. I do remember seeing her on television though, with Joe and JD.

    Re: Does Anyone Remember THIS?

I never saw the Geraldo Rivera show but I did read in one of those tabloid magazines many years ago, that Dee was suppose to have written another book about Elvis and that she was claiming that there was something between Elvis and Gladys and that there was something between Elvis and actor Nick Adams as well.

When you consider the lengths which Dee went to in order to attach herself limpet-style to Elvis's life, it's hardly surprising that she would stoop to these depths just to maintain the attention.

I have that particular interview on my computer and it's nothing but a bunch of lies that Dee tried her darndest to come up with.

J.D. did not atttack Dee physically but he threw words at her that I'm sure he later regretted (or maybe not?) but, yes, it was a wild thing to see.

She later claimed that Elvis and Gladys were lovers (the same thing she tried to claim during the Geraldo show in 1979) but the book deal with the Enquirer (once again) never came about and, yes, I believe she tried to claim that Elvis and Nick Adams were lover (because Nick was gay/homosexual).

    Re: Does Anyone Remember THIS?

when word spread that nick adams was gay ELVIS disasociated himself with him , lamar had told ELVIS that nick adams and monty clift were lovers at one time, and when natalie wood confirmed this , nick was never to be seen again, so lamar said.

    Re: Does Anyone Remember THIS?

the show is on youtube - you can see how appalled JD was - especially since he knew the Presley before Elvis was famous.

Dee also claimed that she told Vernon she was pregnant and he accused her of it being Elvis' - and then she ran outside, fell down and miscarried - with Anita Wood picking her up. Joe counters this by saying that he phoned Anita, who denies the story.

Dee Stanley cannot be trusted - she rushed to write Elvis We Love You Tender and then bragged that it would make the bodyguard book look like a kindergarden reader

    Re: Does Anyone Remember THIS?

Dee has told so many lies and resorted to so many cheap low tricks (how she got Vernon in the first place) that were so obvious anyone who believed anything she said or did had to be very slow witted.

    Re: Does Anyone Remember THIS?

    you're right Diane

Dee, a married woman in her 30's, was after Elvis

Elvis didn't want to meet her and sent his father - a mistake he'd regret forever I'm sure.

She was just determined to wedge herself into his life, and she's tried to ride his coattails ever since.
