'Taking Care of Beaulieu'.
Personally, I prefer cd's.
Reason being, I enjoy the cd's that have nice looking artwork & photographs of the artist on it, plus many times there's interesting liner notes and information about the artist and the recording inside.
I do go the mp3 route on occasion using iTunes, but for me...it's still that little flat-rounded silver disc with the doughnut in the middle![]()

I kinda do both. I love the ease of access and functionality of iTunes, but not so much the buying of downloads. So I still buy CD's, rip them in to iTunes (using the loss less setting) scan the artwork, then put the CD in storage.
That way if anything ever happens to my digital library I still have the CD's at hand.
So, 450 albums and counting in iTunes (lots of Elvis of course).
The nice thing is how easy iTunes and digital music players make it to get at your music.
It's great to see all my Elvis artwork on Apple TV. I find I listen to a much wider scope of Elvis since moving to digital media.
I don't care for a CD anymore. I have too many to listen to. So years ago I started to rip them to mp3. Later I re-ripped them to a lossless format (flac/ape). This way I can create dynamic playlists and listen to songs that I normally wouldn't quickly listen to.
But buying: since the iTunes price isn't that much lower than the Amazon CD price, I prefer to buy the CD. That way I am free to rip it to mp3 (or any other format), read the booklet and store the cd as a trophee in my closet.
And: if you don't like the album after a while, you can sell a CD, while the mp3 purchase has no sell-value.

I perfer the CD's.![]()
I dream a world where man no other man
will scorn. Where LOVE will bless the earth
and peace its paths adorn...
I like to study the cover, liner notes..., so I prefer CD`s and LP`s
cd or vinyl then convert my own mp3s, and my very own artwork as well..it's my pastime
Great replies guysit does make it so easier and faster to find that certain cd or song via mp3s, but i too love that packaging and useful liner notes

While the mp3/iTunes versions of Elvis' songs are indeed much faster to scroll through to find the song you want, there is nothing to me like pulling the CD off the shelf and popping it into the player! So I guess I'm still old school too!!

Just getting into the iPod thing, so Cd's are the way I choose - I like the booklets and the lyrics and being able to put it onto my ipod - leaving out that one song I don't like - & on every cd, there's always that one song!
Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
