I'm the King of the Jungle, They call me Tigerman

Hopefully you are making a DVD of it, because that's what I'm gonna do when I get home. I made one from the crap VHS pan and scan full screen version that looks fine, but it's gotta be seen in letter box. I've got my DVR recording it. I'll make a DVD of the move then put the interview stuff inbetween movies at the end.
I got at least 10 people watching TCM today so I've spread the gospel of Elvis!!!!....Getlo
Getlo - we share one common belief at least...love for THE KING!
In America, this should be a National Holiday, I swear.

I am watching it now also.
I dream a world where man no other man
will scorn. Where LOVE will bless the earth
and peace its paths adorn...
Omg I was thinking the exact same thing! My mom has a vhs/dvd player/burner and I went hunting down a blank dvd disc and the darn thing wouldn't work. I'd almost had it on dvd! They seriously need to consider releasing it on dvd. My mom was watching it tonight and thought that it was a great film as well and she's not that big of an Elvis fan.
Right on - rubbish that we can't see a special edition
I Watched it tonight too now JailHouse Rocks coming on

We will forever miss you at TCB
Tell Elvis we say HI
Yeah i am watch Jailhouse Rock Right Now
i have arip of on tour from laser disc and its not to bad wish like all of you that it will be released soon on dvd, man is ist taking long.
If you have iTunes and Apple TV you can download "On Tour" from the iTunes store. This is DVD quality and the best available at this time.
I have done this myself, and it's a good copy, and the only digital media version of "On Tour" you can get right now.
The Aspect ratio is as originally filmed and the sound is stereo.
A reasonable first issue at least.
At least this tells us that a digital master of "On Tour" has been prepared...
Man oh man....this movie is BEGGING for a "special edition" dvd verson!!!!
It's already a great film as is (well, I could live without the old gentleman describing how Elvis will get off the elevator), but with all the footage they have in the vaults....really missing a golden opportunity MGM!!!
"Don't tamper with the property of the U.S. Male"
t's astonishing to me how much pro shot concert footage is sitting in vaults - not used for documentories or tv specials or music videos
they really need to just put it all out on the FTD label - time they switched to or added concert films
and really, if the estate was okay putting a bonus chapter of fan shot footage of Elvis riding his horse at Graceland and a tiny clip of him entering the Houston Astrodome on that Presley by the Presleys - then they don't have a leg to stand on by refusing to seacure fan shot concert films - some of it is very watchable.
I agree, it's just crazy that they have a product all Elvis fans would want, and yet they let it sit in the vaults.
This item would be guaranteed to sell.
Don't they want to make money?
How can they issue all the other movies made by EP but not Elvis On Tour?
How is it that Apple iTunes store have the only legit digital copy for sale?
Even if all they did was put the original version on DVD it would sell.
I just can't see the reasoning behind this decision.

ESPECIALLY with all of the fantastic outtakes that have been floating around the import video market!!! Imagine those outtakes in perfect quality (or as close to perfect as they can be) on a special edition EOT DVD!!! That would be WONDERFUL to say the least!!!
Why on Earth would you want your film debut cut out of the film???![]()

Unfortunately for the time and money it would take to do a truely decent special edition with many outtakes or a total overhaul-they may not be guaranteed to make money.
TTWII SE came out in early 2000s and it just did not meet the goals they set for the money they spent to reedit and refurbish-partly because they just did not market it properly and partly because they aired it on TCM before it hit the stores.
ON TCMs website they have a list of movies being requested for DVD release and SE treatment-and EOT was way down the list the last time I checked-which gives the impression that no great demand is there.
I wish it was not so-but IMO ....thats the way it is.
Just checked the TCM site and EOT is ranked 56 on their list for DVD release or SE treatment.

Work in Progress!
I got it on DVD in digital format from my DVR with Comcast. Only problem....occasionally the TCM logo appears in the lower part of the screen.
It looked good but definitely deserves to be cleaned up like TTWII.
