I kinda stumbled across this little article of some sort... thought it was pretty interesting.
I'll admit it, I am a fan of Rob Pattinson but besides having the hair and the smuldering/dazzling look I don't think he looks anything like Elvis. A friend of mine pointed out that when he's in his Edward costume he looks a bit like him and I kinda agree... a smidge. Kristen on the other hand she does have those instances where she kinda favors Lisa. After recently doing a bio of Elvis Presley, something occurred to me about one of the mysterious reasons this series is so popular. Yes, Stephenie Meyer paid homage to some classically successful literature in her books (Romeo and Juliet, anyone?), and basically comprised a story about an “every-girl” in love with the "ultimate bad boy with a heart of gold," but when it comes to the furor over the film series (and furor is putting it mildly), I’ve noticed something I don’t think anyone else has brought up: The Presley Factor.
My theory is not rock solid, but as pictures often say more than words, check out exhibits A and B below.
Countless film reviewers have referred to Robert Pattinson as having a brooding quality -- but with that tousled and slightly greasy mane piled high on his noggin, and his ability to put his chin down and his eyes up, creating a dark-lidded smolder, from certain angles he strongly resembles a young Elvis Presley. (There's a little James Dean in there, too, but let's stick with the subject at hand.) He has certainly mastered the ability to cause screaming pandemonium among teenage girls.
EXHIBIT A - PRESLEY AND PATTINSON
The painfully lovely Kristen Stewart, on the other hand, is a chameleon. Sometimes her look can change so drastically she doesn’t even resemble herself. Other times, she reminds me quite a bit of Elvis’ daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. Both are jaw-droppingly gorgeous, know how to use smoky eye shadow to great effect ... and is it just me or do they both look perpetually stoned?
EXHIBIT B - LISA MARIE PRESLEY AND KRISTEN STEWART
does all this mean? I haven’t a clue. But something else of note is that Elvis’ granddaughter, and Lisa Marie’s daughter, Danielle Riley Keough is making her film debut in The Runaways, alongside Kristen Stewart as Joan Jett. Coincidence? You decide.

Interesting article. I don't mind the Elvis comparison, as a woman deeply in love with Elvis, I see peices of him in most everything/everyone, but to compare LisaMarie with Kristen AND Pattinson with Elvis - ee-www! They're lovers in the movie - so no, I don't see any co-inky-dinky's there.

I have seen him cleaned up and normal, as playing a role like "Twilight" he is meant to look this way. He is actually a very nice looking youngman if we leave him out of his mystical form in Twilight, and keep him far away from Elvis..LOL
I do have a pretty open mind, and I can see what the poster was trying to get across..even with Lisa Marie and the female star of "Twilight"
In his/her defense I can only say my feeling is that it has zero to do with Elvis, as when you love someone as much as we do, Elvis everything can seem related to him.

To me Elvis was HOT.
I see a bright future for Pattinson as a rising teen idol.
I can easily see in him the Elvis of 2009 and such.......
I like him too, but do not see his ressemblance to Elvis.
I become a nag when i say: Elvis was Elvis, and no one will even come close to him.
It was not only the beautiful face he had but the whole package, the time frame, everything that made him unique

The thing is, I compare the two pictures and shouldnt. No one can compare to Elvis, full stop. but this is only my opinion. the kids of today (and maybe not just kids) may prefer the other guy. I dont know him and maybe he has some talent, but I dont think anyone can come close to making the kind of history Elvis Presley did back in the mid fifties.
