1973. Elvis wore this cape by Coventry to a ?Help Me? recording session at Stax Studios in Memphis on December 12, 1973. After back-up singer Jeanie Greene complimented Elvis with ?I just love how that cape looks on you. It?s beautiful?, Presley insisted she accept it as a gift at the conclusion of the session. She continues ??very spontaneous and very generous?I remember standing in the control room with him, holding hands, listening to the playback of ?help me?. We both had tears in our eyes. By the time he handed the cape to me, the lining was wet with perspiration?. A well respected studio singer, Greene appears on Percy Sledge?s signature hit ?When A Man Loves A Woman? and many Presley recordings including ?In The Ghetto? and Suspicious Minds?. Portions of the material have faded to a green/blue, but still in excellent condition. LOA
