I think that viewed Elvis just their grandfather.
And I think that Ben is here but maybe he wasn't appear in the documentary.
I watched some of the EBTP dvd earleir, the Christmas part. Actually Ben wasn't in it, but as I was watching Lisa, Prissy and Danielle walk round the kitchen at Graceland I just wondered how they viewed Elvis.
What do you think ? Is it merely as a grandfather who they didn't know who just happened to be famous? Or don't they really think about the famous side of it? I wonder how they view him![]()

Oprah asked Riley this when her and her mother was on her show. I think, If I remember correctly that she said that she just sees him as her grandfather.
I think May they see Elvis as their Grandfather, but are aware of his legacy, Lisa probably has told them about her dad and his accomplishments, there is Graceland too and all the artifacts there for them to see, i would like to think that they see him as first their Grandfather, but also what a great artist he was.
I don't know what to think of any of the off spring of Elvis. Just when I think I know something, Lisa Marie proves me wrong. "Cilla jumps in to add to the confusement.
And Brian, what is it with "The girls name is Riley?"
Elvis' oldest granddaughter's name is Danielle Riley.........so either or is correct I think.
"I just wanna be......your Teddy Bear"
May asked what we think so I answered it
It would be my guess that since neither Ben or Riley met or knew Elvis there is no personal attatchment to him which means he's their deceased grandfather who is their primary source of income.
So they think of him as a cash cow
I always knew what Lisa Marie's daughter's name is but some people on this board don't.

I also saw Lisa and her daughter on the Oprah show in 2007-Sept.
IIRC, Oprah asked Riley if or what she knew about Elvis growing up. Riley replied that yes, she knew of him growing up and relayed one simple example - there were family photo albums where she could see him and knew him as her grandfather - actually, I think she said "Grandpop." (This show can probably still be found on found on oprah.com/internet for viewing/reviewing of content and one's own interpretation.)
IMO, they knew about his fame to some extent but it certainly wasn't the over-riding picture. He was their grandfather first and foremost who happened to be a famous singer/entertainer/moviestar. His level of fame and notoriety was not something young children could really comprehend or would give much thought to anyway. And as Kathy stated, I believe today they are well aware of his accomplishments and the cultural significance. As Elvis's grandchildren mature, they are becoming more involved in honoring their grandfather Elvis and his legacy.
Elvis's first granddaughter is named Danielle Riley Keough. She can 'go by' whatever name she chooses whenever she chooses for whatever reason she chooses.
Elvis's grandson is named Benjamin Storm Keough. He can 'go by' whatever name he chooses whenever he chooses for whatever reason he chooses.
I can't wait for the day Riley decides to 'go by' BACK OFF, BUDDY! and Ben decides to 'go by' TAKE A HIKE, BUDDY!. Yes - they both contain "BUDDY" because they will more than likely be talking to the same jerk!
Thank you for allowing me to express my opinion.

Because we are having a discussion, a civil one. It is my sincere hope that these very lucky children do not consider only the money, as you called it "Cash-Cow."
I myself, including many other people have had realitives who passed, and they didn't get to know them. It made me want to know very much!
There is such a lot out there, it's like a documentary of Elvis's life, and I think if they care enough, and they probably do, they'll watch it all read it all, and come to their own conclusion as to who their GrandFather was as a man, more so than as an entertainer, anyone can see he was the KING!
And now as to your implying some people don't know Elvis's older granddaughter's name, I'd say 99% of us do. You were simply and bluntly being snippy.![]()
