    Elvis in Vanity Fair

Al Wertheimer's historic journey of photographing Elvis at 21 is featured in an article for the 2010-Jan issue of the Vanity Fair-US magazine.

"As his photographs of Elvis at 21 begin a national tour, Al Wertheimer tells Bob Colacello about shadowing Presley on the road from sensational singer to national phenomenon. Plus: VF.com’s exclusive "Before He Was King Portfolio."

The actress Meryl Streep is on the issue's cover with 'Elvis!' in the lower right-hand corner.

Thanks so much... you are correct. I have told the story before, so excuse me if you have heard it already.
But the horriffic car accident I was in back in '68 left me unknown and in a coma for 4 mos. A little nurse named Valentine, loved Elvis and she put tape cassettes of his music by my head all of those months.... and in some respect I owe them both my life. I could not recall the accident, but I did recall the music. That voice lived in my head and heart everyday..and forever since.

    Thank you dear, (I think)
Life has a way of just trying to kill certain people, and it depends upon the endurance of that person as to if they win or loose.
I have no time for being injured or sick....too much to do, to many places to go and too many "Cats"to feed..
