Can you imagine had they done a special in March of 1974 covering Elvis' Memphis concerts like they did with the CBS Special...so many lost moments.
"How do I get placed in situations like this? Ah hell, I guess it's all part of showbusiness "~ Elvis in his limo on his way to perform in Omaha, NE on June 19th 1977

The Colonel was not a big fan of filming anything just for the heck of it-or for something in the future-if he did not have a deal for something he was not going to go to the expense of filming in any professional way.
Shortsighted IMO-especially things like, the Astrodome, MSG, the return to Memphis shows,...but he probably did not think Elvis would die so young like most everyone else.
    Work in Progress!

i do believe and know that there is much and great footage both candid and concert on super 8mm , i fimed every show i attended-38 some good many far off , and i know that people/collectors like sheriff hanna have some really mind blowing film of course some 16mm and super 8mm no pro footage but i think we have to understand much will never be on shiny or in fans hands , durring the mid 80's larry patrick supplied most of the footage that now makes the rounds in 3rd 4th gen, also len leeches stuff on vhs was great until rosemary put a stop because the films were circulating the world and this is most collectors nightmare i know its mine because it was and still is to have recorded this tuff and transfering it to shiny is costly.

why not partner with some to cover expenses and release it?

monk i think that i will do this for my rochester 77 film because it was shot from first row . but instead of making money off E.P. i would rather trade for it.

and I bought all the books I could find and read everything.

but I first encountered fan shot footage in the mid' 90s

with youtube and dvds there just been an explosion of footage

I really thought for the longest time that the only film was the tv appearances, movies and so forth

This is Elvis in 1980 hinted at a lot of home movies

but the sheer the range of clips on the Hot Shots and Cool clips, all the fan shot concerts dvds

I wonder why documentaries/tribute shows in the 90s and 80's always relied on the same few clips - when there's all this other footage out there

hopefully, more early fan shot stuff will come out of people's attics and crawl spaces

but it's shocking to me that Fox was sitting on the Tupelo concert footage all these years

When I first had the internet connected years ago, one of the first things I did, was to look for footage with Elvis.

There wasn't much, and then............ my entire world opened
