Shakin Steve Stevens?
does Jimmy Ellis count. I know he started out as not being an Elvis impersonator, even though later on he did Elvis tribute shows.

I never looked for trouble but I never ran.
Sorry but 3 of these 4 clips where obviously impersonators of that time.
I know Terry Stafford got that record deal cause he won an Elvis impersonator contest and Elvis showed him up by recording the song after him, sort of saying, I'm the real deal.
Vince Everett well that name says it all
There are lots of others that sounded a lot like Elvis but these are obvious remakes to cash in on his name. They probably used these versions on Compilation Hits LPs and didn't want to pay for the artists' version.
BUT THANKS FOR POSTING
I didn't know 2 of the ones you listed existed![]()
Elvis recorded "Suspicion" before Terry Stafford. For some unknown reason RCA never made it a single at that time. It should have been a single because it's a great song and obviously a hit song.
I may upset a few people on here by this comment, but overall I like Terry Stafford's version better. The reason has nothing to do with Terry or Elvis, it's the track itself. Terry's track had a really different production with that keyboard (whatever it is) and the girls background vocals.
If Elvis's voice were on that track it would have killed Terry Stafford. I think Ronnie McDowell must agree with me especially since when he recorded the song it's obvious that he was copying EP's vocal but Terry's production.

Ral Donner...? Is this the youngman who sang.. "You don't know what you got...until you loose it" How about the one song "Summertime blues?"
was this also Ral Donner or terry stafford?
If you don't look at them, some sound pretty darn good but no way would I go, nver did or will to a concert by someone who simply sounds a lot like Elvis. It's the man I love and his music both. No comparison there.![]()

Summertime Blues was by Eddie Cochran
I never looked for trouble but I never ran.
Yeah "Summertime Blues" had an Elvis thing about it. I always thought it sounded like it could have been an Everly Brothers record too. I say that because of the acoustic guitar that does the hook...E E E A....B B B E. Sounds like Don Everly...plus the actual song itself lyrically fits the brothers. I don't think the tune would fit Elvis lyrically. He was kind of above that type of lyric if that makes any sense.

Some of you all never been down South too much...
I'm gonna tell you a little story, so you'll understand where I'm talking about
You Tube never stops amazing me ! Many, many years ago I was given a disc by a singer called Cliff Rivers. The song was called "True Lips". I lost this disc sometime ago. Tonight I thought I'd do a You Tube search never dreaming I would find it. After all, he was a one hit wonder. Having said that, I don't even think it was a hit.
So here it is. And I'm sure you'll agree he was another Elvis sound alike.

The flipside was "Marsha"
