Thank you, Franny, I didn't know this.
Glen Campbell and Elvis: “Playing with Elvis was a lot of fun,” Campbell says, on the phone from his home in Malibu, California. “He said, Campbell, you finally got on one of my records!” I said, ‘Yeah, I had to do it one way or another.’ Because I had known Elvis for quite a while. he had more charisma than anybody I ever worked with.”
Like Elvis, Campbell came from desperate poverty. The seventh of 12 children, he was put to work by his sharecropper father at a young age.
(And) Like Elvis, Campbell had a period of dangerous decadence, except that unlike Elvis, he made it out the other side. In the late 70s, Campbell, until then a model of moderation, indulged more and more heavily in alcohol (“scotch and not a lot of soda” is how he put it) and cocaine, then the drug of choice for high flyers. It's hard NOT to imagine Elvis as perfect; how else could someone be THAT good looking, THAT talented, THAT generous & THAT charismatic

Glen played a lot of sessions in the 60s for a varied group of artists besides Elvis he played with Frank Sinatra, The Monkees, the Association, Bobby Darin, Dean Martin etc......he also toured in the mid 60s as a member of the Beach Boys band.
Work in Progress!
thank you for the article
I never looked for trouble but I never ran.
If you want to see Glens first acting role watch the Steve McQueen movie
"Baby the Rain Must Fall" Glen is a member of McQueens band in the movie.
Work in Progress!
If anybody wants to hear real talent from a man who still has it at like 70yrs old...get Glen Campbell's new album. If you liked his classic albums like "Witchita Lineman"..etc...that type of production...that is EXACTLY what he gives us. He cut a lot of new or recent songs from the world of rock and made them his own and recording them in the classic way. If you like Glen you should go to his website and there is a video there of him recording the album. That video made me go buy the album. Also, his greatest hits have been remixed like E1 for an album I believe is called "The Best Of Glen Campbell".
"I always liked that hillbilly."
