Never ever tell an Elvis fan that he made some shit films... He made some lesser ones, but hey: even Paul Newman and Eastwood made some lesser films, right?

And no: he did not shoot his brother in Charro. He did so in Love Me Tender.

As a musical comedy I like GI Blues the best.
As a "serious" movie I'd say: Flaming Star.

Who knows, Abbi, up to now he never told me. And we are married for almost 12 1/2 years now. Lol. By the way I never cared if something is oldfashioned or not. As long as I like it it's ok by me.

Elvis's fave movie was king creole, he liked it be cos the storyline was good and the songs are'nt too bad either, but movies like clambake and double trouble are considered absoloute flops. he only had to make these movies cos he had a contract to complete and the soundtracks made money with the films. in double trouble he sings old macdonald! and sings to a bunch of kids a song called confidence in clambake. horrible

charro is a western about a guy called Jess Wade (him) and who is accused of stealing a towns cannon and is framed by some ex cons who were his friends. he wears a scar on his neck as a sign he is a criminal and goes out to clear his name. in a brawl he has with one of the ex cons' brother, he captures him and the ex con wants him released, so he holds the town hostage with the stolen cannon and i can't give the rest, but it definitely is a good movie

Judging from the trailer and the various comments I've read about it, Flaming Star has to be his most dramatically important film. Let's look at the facts. It was directed by Don Siegel - a legend in his own right and a man who collaborated often with Clint Eastwood, the same star of those other Westerns to which womanizer was referring. When Flaming Star was test screened, the audience response was clear: get rid of the songs. There were originally several more songs in it, y'see (check out Elvis.com - they have the lowdown on this). Thirdly, Elvis received a medal or medallion or some such accolade from an Indian tribe for his tense and positive portrayal of a man with Indian heritage (it should be noted that Elvis himself really did have some Indian blood; one of his great grandmothers was a Cherokee Indian). Lastly, because of its deeply racial theme of a man caught between two cultures, it was banned by the Aparthied regime in South Africa. Flaming Star had real human and political gravitas. How many Elvis movies can you say that about?

I think his `pork chops' were cool, if a bit long quite often in the 70s.
I've tried to grow them but they just don't work!

    I got this far:

You're right. They don't work. Only Elvis could get away with them.
