    Great New Website!!!!

Check out Jerry Presley's great new Website. www.jerrypresleyshow.com and all that he is sharing in music and information. He definitely has a gift in singing. He sounds like Elvis does today and their is one song in particular you might want to pay special attention to. The song is "The End is Not in Sight" Talk about a message! Anyway stay tuned as I hear more is coming.

I'm not that crazy about impersonators (I prefer tribute artists singing Elvis' songs in their own clothes and voice).

But I like to watch/hear/read things myself before I judge it. I saw his site (the design is quite poor and 90's style), but looking at his performances (http://www.jerrypresleyshow.com/video.html) I must say that he does a hell of a job. His voice is quite good, his looks are allright and the movements are Elvis-alike and not "overdone". His age and movement is matching the 1973-1975 Elvis. Good job and a respectful act.

I must say I have no time for impersonators in any shape or form. By and large I think they do Elvis' legacy a lot of injustice. Were all entitled to our opinions, and that's my one. If I want to hear an Elvis song, or see an Elvis concert, then I see ELVIS! Be it on CD or DVD!

Okay, since everybody has a right to their own opinion

I viewed the video and I'm sorry to say that this one, like most others, just makes me cringe, no matter if he's got the vocals down to some extend or not.
All Elvis' mannerisms and idiosyncrasies are broadened, emphasized, done too often in too little a time, so that we the spectators won't miss the fact that it is supposed to be ELVIS we're viewing here

I'm sure this gentleman makes a decent living with his "shows" ergo: there's a market for it of fans who will take anything now that the real thing is gone. I'm not one of them.
My favorite uncle died in 1990 at the age of 63. He was a great joke teller, story teller, he had a real talent for making a party a success, without resorting to tasteless stuff. We all miss him deeply, still, after all these years. What if we, ordinary people, would have impersonators around for our own loved ones, who'd imitate all their personal talents just to keep the memory alive........
Sure, artists are something different, but still.....I'll never be able to wrap my brain around the idea of adults dressing up like their idols and impersonating their every move, bend of voice, manner of speaking etc. etc. It's simply not appealing to me, forgive me.

    Impersonators

Impersonators - Or as they like to be called now ETA's -
Well the "estimated time of arrival" folks are sure out there in droves. I had a look at the video on "Mr Presley's" site and I listened to a few audio samples... he is better than some and as good as some others. But I think any "True Elvis" fan would never assume to make a comparison of any kind. Because there simply is NO COMPARISON.
Elvis was unique in that he didn't sound like anybody else.
Although these ETA folks sure try to do their level best. It doesn't come close. Elvis had more talent in his little finger than 99.9% of these guys ever will get. But even having just a fingers worth of talent is as good as most singers can only aspire to reach in their digital goal.

There is a guy called "Doug Church" and he goes by the name of "The Voice of Elvis"....well let me tell you , everytime I hear him I only hear the voice of "Doug Church"...He's okay but ELVIS is ELVIS and only ELVIS sounds like ELVIS...Moves like ELVIS....has the charisma of ELVIS....and the legend of ELVIS.....

Don't get me wrong here...I myself used to be a professional singer. I was NEVER an ELVIS impersonator and I always arrived at my estimated time..BUT I did sing a few Elvis songs in my act. How could I not being a huge fan....

But I also sang Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran, The Platters, and so on and so forth....and I wore regular clothing - NO JUMPSUITS EVER.

Anyway, not wanting to rock and ships here...Everyone is entitled to enjoy ETA's, have a sense of an Elvis performance even though by his standards it is sub rate... let them do their best, let them try anyway!

There are many Elvis fans that are actually ETA fans...They follow these guys and give their loyalty and worship to these guys. If it makes them happy in Elvis' name then so be it!
I am giving you a link here to a song (one of many) I have recorded..
'Tis the season.. and one of my favorite Elvis Christmas Songs...
If you care to listen just click the url below ..Or if you want to hear the original, you know where your Elvis christmas CD is....Right?
