I get your analogy too 1100ccRider, so it could be plausible that thousands of years from now, future archeologists may presume that we all worshipped Elvis. At this moment in time, I have to really reach and I do mean really reach to see a religion based solely on Elvis. Who knows what the people of the future will make of this? Still, interesting concept even if I don't agree with it.

Never said he would want want to be a religion, just saying that for a lot of people Elvis is more important than the Bible. It's a distraction to getting to know themselves instead their focus is on Elvis's life but since you're on the subject of what Elvis wanted I'm sure that other than loving gospel music, one of his goals was to show people that there was " Somebody Bigger Than You and I
