"The Lighthouse" as seen in ELVIS ON TOUR

I was just wondering....does anyone know if the song "The Lighthouse" that was sung by Donnie Sumner, Ed Enoch and Bill Baize in ELVIS ON TOUR was ever released on an album that The Stamps released? It is such a beautiful song and I would love to hear the whole song!!!

Yes, The Stamps recorded a version of it on there 1972 Something Special album.

unfortunately most of the Stamps albums haven't been put on CD or are out of print.

lots of gospel groups and singers have recorded that song though.

thnx for the info...the lighthouse i love that gospel song also..
There's a lighthouse on the hillside
    That overlooks the sea
When I'm tossed it sends out a light
    That I might see
And the light that shines in darkness now
    Will safely lead me o'er
If it wasn't for the lighthouse
My ship would be no more

It seems that everybody about us says
    Tear that old lighthouse down
The big ships just don't pass this way anymore
So there's no use in standing around
Then my mind goes back to that one dark, stormy night
When just in time, I saw the light
Yes, it was the light form that old lighthouse
That stands up there on the hill

And I thank God for the lighthouse
I owe my life to Him
    Jesus is the Lighthouse
And from the rocks of sin
He has shown a light around me
    That I might clearly see
If it wasn't for the lighthouse
Tell me where would this ship be?

I thank God for the lighthouse
I owe my life to Him
    Jesus is the Lighthouse
And from the rocks of sin
He has shown a light around me
    That I might clearly see
Iffffffffffffffffffffffffff it wasn't for the lighthouse
Tell me where would this ship be?
...i also love the song sweet sweet spirit

Hi Mike, check this out, the full song of the lighthouse is first, then a little of the stamps after it, then some Elvis gospel

You ask how long I love you, I'll tell you true,
until the Twelfth of Never, I'll still be loving you

That is one of my very favorite done by Donnie Sumner. I once found a 45 single on eBay that had the Stamps singing both The Lighthouse and Sweet Sweet Spirit on the reverse side. I won the item and was so excited then the owner came and told me she was sorry but she had previously sold it and had forgotten and relisted it again. I haven't been able to find it again but I do know there is an LP out with these songs.
