That's because it wasn't really her telling the story for the movie.
It arguably wasn't her telling the story in the book, either.

Trying to blow the whistle on minor discrepancies between the book and film as an indication of Priscilla's dishonesty is pretty futile, since it was adapted for the screen by other individuals whose considerations were entertainment value, rather than reflecting the facts as accurately as possible.

Isn't it strange that after 7 years living with him you never hear her tell nice anecdotes? She says there were good and bad times with him but you never get to know the good things in detail, only the bad ones. On the other hand, Charlie Hodge wrote a book only filled with positive stuff about Elvis, which shows that even if you don't personally write the book you can control the result.
This movie is based on her book and I can't see any difference between the book and the film so... ... you know who to blame.
