75 tracks is more logical for the title
depends on wether it's 75 for the number of songs............or 75 for his age.
I thought it was 75 for his age and the box set was going to contain 100 tracks??
Now I'm confused (which honestly doesn't take much)...

ELVIS 75: GOOD ROCKIN’ TONIGHT presents 100 digitally restored songs, a broad collection of hit singles, deep album tracks, live performances, and rarities. The tracks appear in strict chrono¬logical order of recording dates over the course of Disc 1 (1953-1957), Disc 2 (1958-1962), Disc 3 (1963-1969), and Disc 4 (1970-1977). They range from the first demo acetate that Elvis made at the Memphis Recording Service of Sun Records as a gift for his mother in 1953 (“My Happiness”), to a sampling of Sun Records sides produced by Sam Phillips in 1954-55 (“That’s All Right,” “Blue Moon Of Kentucky,” “Good Rockin’ Tonight,” and more), through 21 and a half years of RCA tracks, from 1956 to 1977.
The 100th track on the box set is the JXL Radio Remix Edit created in 2002, for “A Little Less Conversation,” originally a 1968 single (written by Billy Strange and Mac Davis). The remix was done by Dutch musician-producer Tom Holkenborg aka Junkie XL (JXL, the XL stands for Xpanding Limits). It was commissioned for Nike’s World Cup ad campaign, and was commercially released in Europe as “Elvis vs. JXL.” It went on to hit #1 in the UK, Australia, and more than 20 countries worldwide. In the U.S., the CD single rose to #1 on the new Hot 100 Singles Sales chart. It later became the opening theme for tv’s Las Vegas series, starring James Caan on NBC.]
On January 5, 2010, RCA/Legacy will release a 26-track single CD titled ELVIS 75, featuring selections from the box set. As the year continues, RCA/Legacy will unveil a full slate of Elvis Presley catalog title reissues and compilations. I'm interested on the 4 CD U.S. release advertised on the article you posted, most likely that is also the format will get down here in Latin America.
Question: Are the tracks on Elvis '75 receiving the same sound improvement that the legacy 40th anniversary release of "From Elvis in Memphis" got?

They got to be very clever selecting those tracks, or else we will be replicating: Second to None/30 #1 hits
Looking forward if those are getting the same great treatment "From Elvis in Memphis" got.
Talking about the 4 cd set/100 tracks U.S. version:
1. I think they did a decent, not great, but decent job choosing the songs, except for: This is My Heaven? Adam and Evil? THE HORROR! there where at least 25 better choices from the mid 60's, even from movie soundtracks! was Jorgensen on acid or what? Definitively odd choices, actually *****ic.
2. "A broad collection of hit singles, deep album tracks, live performances, and rarities". In terms of looking for deep albums tracks, the stuff beyond the hits, I think the 90's 3cd box set "Artist from the Century" did a better job, revealing non hits album tracks to the non fans. In temrs of live performances? a bit more than 4 tracks would have been nice. About the rarities, see none except for My Happiness, anyhow, I would have even left this one out, as this is about masters not really about rare stuff. We had "Platinum" & "Today Tomorrow and Forever" and "Close Up" for 4cd box sets overviews, using the rare stuff.
I would certainly hope so, or they are going to face MAJOR backlash from the fans!!!

I didn't understand this strategy when they released the pair of double CD sets from the PLATINUM box set a few years ago, and I don't understand why they are doing this again!!! Yes it will be cheaper to pick up a single disc than a 4-CD box set, but my guess is that the single disc will probably contain most of the usual hits and for that casual fans can buy the 30 #1 disc, so I really don't know what the strategy behind this is!!

1 disc, 3 discs, and 4 discs
Only if the play list is way different from 30 #1/Second to Non/Hitsville, that single CD out of Elvis '75 will make any sense, but I hardly see that happening, so, mayor setback about that 1 CD. Besides that, the 4 cd box set looks great except for the oddity of choosing: This is My HEaven & Adam & Evil, and leaving out Love Letters, Down In tHe Alley or Memphis Tennessee. The thing is that the Japanese version is focusing only in the mayor hits, which is ok, but aren't we a little bit tired of that. The U.S. 4 CD tried to include and showcase a bit beyond that, including Highlights from the albums, material, that at least for the general public, or the very new fans would be totally new. In fact I would have pushed a bit harder on that, leaving a few other hits outside on Cd 1, 2 & 3, to include more album gems, just as they did in cd 4, leaving The Wonder of You out to include stuff from Elvis Country, that was brilliant.
I prefer the Japanese track list to the U.S. one. Even if there is fewer songs.
Is there a price available for the 3 and 4 disc versions?

Not everyone's enamoured with the ELVIS75 tracklist, but with a few tweaks one collection would suffice.
