I suspect if they owned the tapes they would have done something about it by now. They aren't exactly laid back and generous .
On his show on Sirius Radio this Friday, George Klein once again mentioned that he has in his possession, three unreleased duets of Elvis singing 'Blue Suede Shoes' with legendary Carl Perkins, 'Help Me' with Country singer, Larry Gatlin and 'Guitar Man' with the great Jerry Reed.
The duets were recorded in the 80's and Klein claims they were to form a duets album called 'Elvis & Friends' but Parker put a stop to the project before more duets could be recorded. The tapes were given to Klein by the widow
of Elvis producer, Felton Jarvis. The radio DJ, said in an interview with Elvis Australia in 2008 that he offered the tapes to RCA but they were not interested?
On Friday's show Klein said he refuses to hand over the tapes until SONY come up with the right offer. Klein also claims to have in his possession a tape of raw material from the 1969 American Sound Sessions and a never before heard interview.
If these claims are true, we say Klein should hand over the tapes and stop with the pay up attitude so that SONY can get these released and the fans can get to hear these recordings. After all, don't RCA/BMG/SONY own the tapes anyway? (News, Source: Elvis Express Radio)

I think he really does have the tapes
This story came about last year and Ernst Jorgensen commented on it by saying that George Klein offered him the tapes but he didn't want them.
He said that they didn't want them because they'd have to pay royalties on them or something like that and that Sony legally owned the tapes anyway.
Yet George Klein continues to talk like he has something special even though he doesn't and he's already been turned down.
I also believe he has them Brian. I believe him. I don't believe Sony owns them, if they did they would have forced him to return them. If someone throws something away and I get it, its mine. As long as I'm not trying to sell the music,or the rights, the tape would be mine. I never blame anyone for trying to make a business deal, you win some you lose some . Someday someone may produce something we haven't heard of that will be a great find for us fans.
Like you said I just don't think they care. IMO it would be something cool to hear, but if they (Sony) were interested, they would have just produced another copy of it when they had a chance. Even now with two of the other artists gone I wouldn't be surprised if they could mix something if they chose.
I don´t like it if people change the songs so that Elvis sings with someone he has never súng with. I think they should all just leave the songs the way they are!
would not put it past tom to stopsomething elvis might have wanted to do himself cant talk about parker i hate that man
The only thing here of interest is the interview really. The complete '69 sessions have come out on bootlegs already and there are no new Elvis vocals on the duets anyway. No wonder Ernst isn't interested.
