It is always going to be horses for courses with fans, I'm pretty sure that if a comment about Jackson was taken from a post on here an MJ fan would be just as morally outraged as some are here![]()
Of all the comments in the article, the one that really made me angry was the part that "Elvis had no talent"!!?? How pathetic this can be. Is it possible that a person with no talent could have lasted for so long as the greatest entertainment and is still remembered and worshipped by so many people in the whole world? And If Elvis had no talent, why this person that wrote the article ever bothered to write about Elvis comparing him with Michael in the first place? I can't deal with such things any more.![]()
Goodbye Rosanne...Your "family" in TCB will always remember you.
The Way i see it, Michael Jackson stopped touring what 1997 ? He was finished a has been, You could mention the new "This Is It Tour" But everybody & their dog knew this would never happen.......Where Elvis on the other hand performed right until the very end.
To me that shows there was no comparison. I'll remember Elvis for the rest of my life....Im sure as hell won't remember MJ in the same regard as my hero.
Let's not forget that Elvis died long before the internet, The Youtube, the Facebook, etc. Had he passed away during that era of thechnology, there would have been no question of comparing the 2 of them.

Well said Hexia. I don't understand the fuss about MJ. There are many more great dancers and also good singers. So what's so special about MJ? He even had a voice coach for crying out loud (something that Elvis never needed.) So who's better. And they're two different styles and area's that you can't compare. I always say: Elvis was a natural talent and MJ was created. We'll prove in time that Elvis was and still is the best. Just don't give up and keep his memory alive. We have to think of things that put Elvis in te news in a positive way.

reports like this..just make me sooooooooo MAD.![]()

I just dont even bother reading articles such as these. Why bother. We all know here that Elvis wont ever be outshined by anyone!
So you're saying Elvis Presley isn't as good as ... I can't even say it ... Josh Groban?!
And you agree with that?!!
Mark my words: The year 2011 ... Groban won't have been seen on the charts in two years, and he'll be the answer to a music trivia question.
I mean, really!
Getlo - cute'n'cuddly
Really, indeed!!
Having re-read the initial article I can only conclude the individual who wrote it is in their teens or early 20's to hold such an infantile view
I actually like some of the stuff Jackson did, he wasn't talentless, he was a great artist in his heyday. Just because you like Elvis doesn't mean you have to denigrate another artist. Two artists can coexist.
The problem we have is that Elvis' demise brought about the drug stories, the weight & private life etc. On the other hand Michael's demise was brought about in his own lifetime with his own actions and peculiarities.
Each has individual merits, each has meteoric careers, we should shoot the messenger not the message in this case![]()
Well said Matt,
This tells us more about the author... errr... It does only tell about the author. Did I mention the author?
Friends, when one writes these ludicrous articles all we have to do is laugh.
It simply makes no sense at all, and if they are in their right minds, it also makes no sense to a true Jackson fan. The man was talented, that's for sure.
But comparing the artists in this way, makes no sense whatsoever.
Comparisons like this are useless-MJ fans and those of his generation will see him as a true King and we see Elvis in that light.
But to call Elvis an amatuer is ridiculous.
Elvis never demanded to be called the King of Rock-but MJ is reported to have done so when he was doing projects with MTV.
MJ seemed to worry overtly about how he would be seen and he wanted to be known as the biggest and the best-he contrived to project that.
The Guinness Book 2009 even notes that the biggest selling album in the world was Thriller with 55 million in sales according to Sony and RIAA-but it also notes that MJ management claim worldwide sales of 104 million which is unsubstantiated.
You'd think in the history of music sales that in todays world of computerized sales tracking there would only be controversy about artists like Elvis and the Beatles whos sales were not so well tracked and documented inthe 50s and 60s-but MJ to claim double what his own record company has said-thats pretty bold.
Work in Progress!
