The editorial staff would like to commend Kurt Russell for his portrayal of Elvis. Although it is virtually impossible for anyone to be exactly like Elvis, Kurt Russell was close. His voice and mannerisms were uncannily near-exact. The problem with the movie was that while they concentrated on Russell's performance, they didn't pay too much attention to truth or authenticity in the story.

o begin with they made Elvis' life seem like one big tragedy. They portrayed sadness in almost every scene. Elvis was not the sad, lonely person they made him out to be. He was not a prisoner in his own home, he lived the life he wanted to live. He loved singing, he loved being on the stage, he loved the money it brought in and he certainly loved spending that money. Sure he was lonely sometimes, who hasn't been, but they missed telling about the crazy fun times he had and those were in the majority. That's why we called him "Crazy."
