Yes, I understand it Rosanne. You saw him on stage more than once, so you can know surely that nobody can be like him. He was so unique. Anyways did you ever think in that time that so many impersonator would try to be like him later?

No, I never would have thought that there would be so many impersonators. I would have thought "why bother? no one can take on such an impossible task."

If they try to be Elvis, or be better, I have a problem. If they merely want to pay tribute and keep his memory alive, I'm fine with that.

If you think about it though, what is the difference in "trying" to be Elvis, "impersonating" Elvis, and "paying tribute to keep his memory alive"? The only way to "keep" his memory alive is to "impersonate" his memory.

I have to admit I did go to see a couple of Impersonators over the years. I just wanted to get a feel of what it was like to see Elvis. BIG MISTAKE! I left both times very disappointed because I realized , what I already knew, no one will ever be like him! I was so mad when I saw women screaming at this man and saying "OMG. he is just like him". I just wanted to scream back and say "You have no idea what the REAL Elvis is like!" I said after that I would never go see another one!

If I heard someone say that to me while performing, I would probley look back at my mother-in-law or my wife who ever was doing the scarfs that night and say on mic. "She know's I'm Not Elvis right? "

Ok, I know this is dangerous adding this video to this particular thread, but I thought it would be fun to see the reaction! There are some crazy Elvis impersonators out there that think they're Elvis or have some kind of deranged ideas, but I promise you I'm NOT one of those guys. I know I'm not Elvis. I'm a fan who was frustrated in seeing sloppy, disrespectful portrayls of our hero! So, I decided to put together a show here locally and we perform it 4 to 5 times a year. It's more fun than anything, but I consider it to be a real tribute to the man who is my musical hero!

Beautiful voice Nathan, you and Tim do a great tribute to Elvis and show people that not all tribute artists are not out for themselves. It's obvious how both of you love Elvis and portrait him with grace and respect.

I'll tell you right now, I don't do it for the money at all. You can't make a living doing this. I perform as Elvis out of fun, respect and the fact that there are people that truly enjoy it and have requested me to perform his music continually. I do it to make people happy.

I know Tim, you do alot for charity and that is excellent! It is just that some take it way to far, they actually think they are Elvis!

To me it just depends on who they are and how they portray Elvis. I have seen some that would make a billy goat puke by the way they act and portray Elvis; however, I have seen some, and still support a few, (Eddie Miles, Lou Vuto, Will Stiles, and Max Pellicano) who do Elvis great justice by presenting both him and his music with class. dignity, and respect by giving Elvis the credit for the songs, using their own personality and not trying to mimic Elvis, and for using there time on stage to not only sing, but educate others on Elvis' music.

I agree that no matter how tallented or good hearted any tribute artist is, he will never be able to replace Elvis Presley.

I don't like elvis impersonators at all they make elvis look like a joke. They all sound the same in that bad deep voice that they do which Elvis never talked in that deep voice that imps do. However when someone does a tribute song like Bill medleys old friend I like that because they are paying tribute in their own voice or when someone does a cover a Elvis song like when Travis Tritt did TROUBLE was great because alot of people got to hear a song that was basically unknown to the general public.
