Thread: Your favorite Elvis gospel song

    Your favorite Elvis gospel song

No one could sing gospel like Elvis. In fact, it may have been his best music IMO. I was just curious as to what is everyone's favorite Elvis gospel song?

It's a tough choice to pick one favorite, but if I have to pick one, it would be Let Us Pray. I have others that are close behind but I want to read other opinions first.

I like many a song of his - though how great thou art may seem pretty standard, it is my all-time favorite. I like to sing it myself with that dramatic ending!

Is where did they go lord a gospel track though
Great song though I love it. I just noticed it was released on Elvis Country. Thought of it more as a love song, but a favorite!

Re: Your favorite Elvis gospel song

My very favorite is Amazing Grace. I love most of the Gospel songs that Elvis recorded.
Some of my favorites are: Milky White Way, He Touched Me; I,John; Swing Low, Joshua
Fit the Battle of Jericho, Stand By Me and many more. I love If We Never Meet Again; but, I can't listen to it without crying. It was a favorite of my late brother's. I do like
Where Did They Go Lord; but I don't see it as a Gospel song either. I do know it was
released on one of the Gospel albums and that my be why some people include it in Elvis'
    Gospel songs.

    Run On
    Let Us Pray Together
    Lead Me, Guide Me

Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go

Sounds like a good explanation! I'd describe it as a love song with a gospel flavor, touch and key to it..

    Hmmm...tough question...

I would have to say that RUN ON is probably one of, if not my favorite gospel song. I also love HE TOUCHED ME, I BELIEVE, HIS HAND IN MINE and the version of SWING DOWN SWEET CHARIOT from "The Trouble With Girls".
