Strange indeed, then again, Elvis didn't attend any of Frank's either![]()
The answer is rather simple, I think.
Although Elvis admired - and later came to love - Frank, the simplest explanation is that, ultimately, Frank's music wasn't Elvis' type.
When Elvis went to see Vegas shows in the 60s and the early 70s, his tastes ran to people like Ike and Tina Turner, Vicki Carr, Timi Yuro, Jackie Wilson, Tom Jones et al. These are the people he went out to see.
Frank, with all due respect to him, didn't rock in the way Elvis liked.
And vice versa: while Frank thought of Elvis as a friend, Elvis' music wasn't to Frank's taste.
I don't think either of them wanted to waste a night seeing a type of music that didn't really grab them.
Getlo - cute'n'cuddly
Ken Sharp's book is one of those which is an ESSENTIAL inclusion in any serious Elvis library!

I got my book and it is indeed wonderful! Lots of great little anecdotes, too. It's still by my bedside, so I can pick it up and peruse any time I want!
