Cardiac arrythmia is often the last diagnosis when someone dies but it doesn't necessarily means that it was the only cause. Obviously it was caused by something and in Elvis' case, probably by all those drugs he was taking.
And what do they mean with the "...he died a natural death...", anyway?
Ok, I don't want to blame someone for Elvis' death. Maybe Elvis did the biggest harm to himself. But I can't really trust Dr. Nichopoulos.

I agree with you i think Elvis sourced the drug he wanted or he thought he needed from various doctors. But i think all of the doctors forgot one simple thing 'duty of care.' I understand that times were differant but 10.000 pills in one year even if half were placebos that's still seems way to many to me.

No, not all of it was neccessary because there were a lot of times Elvis took it (and I know that Rosanne - if she were here - would agree with me) because of the "buzz" or feeling that if gave him.
I think that we're forgetting that it wasn't just Elvis that Dr. Nick was overprescribing medications for (JERRY LEE LEWIS!). And, there were other doctors prescribing these meds to him as well: The late Dr. Elias Ghanem; Dr. Max Shapiro; Dr. "Flash" Newman (one of those last two doctors were known as "Dr. Feelgood" - I can't remember which.
This man is now 82-years old and badly in need of finances. Although his behavior during his time with Elvis is/was inexcuseable, I say we cut him some slack.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that, Cardiac arrhythmia, means your heart stopped due to a irregular heart beat. That's what was so ridiculous about the doctors statement on the cause of Elvis' death. Telling us what caused the heart to have irregular beat. They knew about his problem that's why destroyed his stomach content. That's ok in my book cause in spite of what Elvis did to his body these doctors were protecting the image of their homeboy. In my personal opinion, it's nobodies business but the knowledge of what most probably happened and his history of detoxing since 1973, the drugs attributed to it or was the main cause. It makes me sad to think about how there was something obviously wrong when you compare the New Years Eve show and the CBS Special.

Bradycardias is why I had to go for a heart test last year. Doctor got all stressed out over nothing (I think). The specialist said my heart was as good as a long distance runner and I had nothing to worry about. Then he found I smoked and it all changed. No, I didn't go back for the 6 hour stress test.

I still maintain that since Elvis was so addicted to the prescriptions he didn't have the presence of mind to determine whether he was in the right or wrong to demand more pills. I put some of the blame on him for starting on that path and not getting off until it was too late, but I do put the most blame thereafter on the doctors who did not say no to him for monetary reasons.
