Same here Matt,Elvis always has in the end the best voice and it's just something very charismatic, and magic about Elvis. I listen to all kinds of music and singers, but I always come back to Elvis.
If your anything like me there will be periods of time when you don't listen to Elvisthis is not always a bad thing because too much of a good thing can take the edge off something special.
Today however I was in my car listening to the radio and it was mind numbing rubbish, it was that bad, I was at the point of driving head first into a brick wall, so to avoid ending my life I decided to look in my glove box when I can across a various CD I made of Elvis, talk about finding water in a desertfirst of all I listened to "Suspicious Minds" (take 6) just a fabulous voice on this version without the overdubs etc, then "Early Morning Rain. (take 11) from the FTD I Sing All Kinds, which was just amazing. It reminded me of a conversation with Bobby & Mike quite recently, Elvis had such a great voice and when you hear it, even when you have had a bummer of a day it can just lift your spirit.
Thank you Elvis for lifting my day![]()

I dream a world where man no other man
will scorn. Where LOVE will bless the earth
and peace its paths adorn...
Well said, Matt -- and Tommy. A lot of folks probably don't want to admit that but of course it is true.
And yes, that take of EMR is truly sublime.
And I'm sure this isn't just moderator talk.
But there is a coincidence there; just a little bit earlier I needed an escape and got plugged into my headphones and the above mentioned track is one of the first ones I turned to...I prescribe the same for all.![]()
...you won't forget me when I go.
Yes I totally agree-his voice has always been able to relax me and to comfort me. When the world seems bleak or dark- "IF I Can Dream" can make it bright and light.
"Tomorrow Is a Long Time" , "Early Morning Rain", "Treat Me Nice", "Stuck on You" I mean the list is endless of songs which can change my mood and lift my spirits.
I like other music and appreciate other talent.......but his voice... the charisma shines through besides the talent.![]()
Work in Progress!
Just the other day I was struck by Padre (take 2) from I Sing All Kinds, it was just amazing.![]()

I listen to all kind of music, crooners such as Nat King Cole, Perry Como, Sinatra, Engelbert, Tony Bennett... on my days off I will be on youtube searching for their videos.
Like yesterday, I was searching for Perry Como version of ' And I Love You So' .. my heart skip a beat and thought ' Elvis did better than him ..
so, here I was searching for more of Elvis on youtube.
Elvis will never die,.. I think God only made once of that kind , and maybe another one in a thousand of years from now,but I doubt it.. I have always believe that whoever come across to Elvis life or liking his music and become a passionate fan of his were/are lucky ,...Elvis does bring joy to our soul,..well I know mine is..
There is nothing wrong with listening to other artists besides Elvis.I'm not saying, that I don't listen to the King.I have over 100 songs of his on my MP3 player.I'm just saying that it's always good to expand your musical tastes.
The One and Only King of Rock'n'Roll.
I also listen to other music from the 50s 60s an 70s I appreciate good talent but I always come back to Elvis.
Just be careful, when listening to Elvis while you drive.Especially when you crank up those rockers of his.

I don't listen to Elvis all the time either (a lot but not all the time LOL), but this has been a stressful week, and listening to Bridge over Troubled Water was very comforting![]()
My "de-stress" song is Just Pretend. Usually when Im driving.
With me I think that sometimes I forget just how great that voice is.... and then it hits you in the ears some day and it`s like becoming a fan all over again. I listen to a lot of different types of music but nothing gives me that same feeling that I get from listening to Elvis. It also happens from time to time where I hear something by Elvis that is hidden away on...just for example the "Harum Scarum" soundtrack..something that has been critisized and beaten down over the years...and then you hear "So close yet so far..." and it makes you go wow!
