Well, my 1st two times to see him were 08/17/1971 and 11/13/1971. He wore the "cisco kid" and the white "spectrum" suit, and I wore "hot pants" with knee high patent leather boots. Hail to the 70's!

Yes, I remember the MONTH, DATE, YEAR AND CITY where I saw him. In fact, it's really easy to remember the year since I saw him EVERY YEAR from 1970 to 1977.

You're right. I type this stuff up late at night or first thing in the AM. not as sharp as i should be. i never thought of 12/12/76 as closing night, i guess because that was the only time i did it and in a different mind set.

i went that day because it was the closest date to christmas i could see elvis and visit my family for the holidays.

i was in the navy and came home on leave from hawaii. my parents picked me up at the airport with a coat, thank God, coz i was freezing! i couldn't wait to get home and get ready. and then my dad said, with a disapproving face, You aren't here to see your family for Christmas, you're here to SEE ELVIS.

oops! caught!

i was glad to be going to the show, but so disappointed my ticket said 'balcony'. and i didn't have the nerve to try and change my seat. so i went up there 'like a good girl'.
but i am glad that i had the fortune to see his last show here in town. for the 'new' songs i heard and just because it was his last.
