Now Debbie Rowe wants the kids....

I had a feeling this was coming...sooner rather than later.

Debbie Rowe wants custody of the two children she had with Michael Jackson.

“I want my children,” Rowe said during a 90-minute phone conversation Thursday morning with Chuck Henry of KNBC in Los Angeles.

Rowe said she was willing to submit to any testing, including DNA, to prove that she is the children's true biological mother. Rowe also said she would submit to psychological testing.

She also said she would seek a restraining order to keep Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, away from the children.

The agreement does allow for visitation, but Rowe said it's a very difficult process.

"I am stepping up," Rowe said. "I have to."

Rowe said she was still grieving. She said she decided she had to seek custody after Jackson's death.

Jackson, who died at age 50, left behind three children: son Michael Joseph Jr., known as Prince Michael, 12; daughter Paris Michael Katherine, 11; and son Prince Michael II, 7. Rowe was the mother of the two oldest children.
The youngest was born to a surrogate mother, who has never been identified.

Rowe said she was concerned about splitting up the children. She said she did not expect the court to grant custody of the third child, but added that she would be willing to accept custody.

Rowe, who was married to Jackson in 1996 and filed for divorce three years later, surrendered her parental rights. An appeals court later found that was done in error, and Rowe and Jackson entered an out-of-court settlement in 2006.

Earlier this week, Jackson's mother was appointed temporary guardian of the children, pending a hearing on Monday. A will signed by Jackson in 2002 and filed with the court Wednesday requests that Katherine Jackson be named guardian of the children, but in the event of her death, he asked that singer Diana Ross be appointed.

The will also specifically leaves Rowe out of any inheritance.

"I have intentionally omitted to provide for my former wife, Deborah Jean Rowe Jackson," the will states.

Rowe's attorney, Eric George, told the Los Angeles Times he will be at the custody hearing Monday to represent her.

It makes me wonder as well. Ever since I heard that she gave up the right to her kids I wondered why.

I just saw Gloria Alred the high profile attorney on MSNBC and she said Rowe did not renounce all rights of custody when she and MJ came to the agreement to let MJ have total custody. According to her the kids were suppose to have a court appointed attorney to represent them in all this-to make sure it was all in their best interest-and the courts ruled because of that-that she in fact retained some rights as a parent because the aggreement was incorrectly came to privately.

another article says....."DISTORTION OF THE TRUTH"

"I have no reason to doubt that what was reported from that conversation was accurately and ethically recorded, but that said, it would be a distortion of the truth to allow that single snapshot of a single conversation to stand as the truth of Debbie's position," he said. A court hearing on guardianship originally set for July 6, has been changed to July 13.

Temporary guardianship was granted earlier this week to Jackson's 79-year-old mother, Katherine Jackson. A 2002 will signed by Jackson specifically cut Rowe out of his estate and asked that his mother take care of the children.

Celebrity magazine People characterized the brewing legal dispute as a "fierce custody battle" and said Rowe spoke to her former attorney Iris Finsilver, who said of the conversation: "She is going to be pursuing custody of the children."

Although details of Tuesday's memorial service have yet to be unveiled, Los Angeles media said Jackson's family may hold a service at the Forest Lawn Mortuary then motorcade to Staples Center.

The arena was the site of the singer's last rehearsals for a planned 50-concert comeback tour in London that was due to start on July 13 and was backed by AEG Live.

Video clips of a rehearsal two nights before he died, given to the media by AEG, show Jackson looking thin but performing more like his old superstar self.

But reports of his prescription drug use continued to swirl on Thursday, and law enforcement sources said the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration had been asked to help Los Angeles police in their investigation.

Several bags of medicines have already been removed from Jackson's house by coroner's officials.

His brother Jermaine Jackson said Thursday that reports of Michael Jackson's possible drug use had hurt his family.

"Michael has always been a person who was against anything like that. ... But in this business the pressures and things that you go through, you never know what one turn(s) to," Jermaine said on NBC's "Today" show.

Regardless what Debbie Rowe ulterior motives, those kids needs their mom. period... as a woman I just hope she could be a good mother for them. Wasn't she Michael' nurse ? and thats how they built a relationship ?

So far about drugs abused, I wonder if his family is in denials, sometimes just to see Michael news on TV wearing mask and looked 'frailed' ..he must had been in so much pain,...and how to eliminate that? by taking pain killers ... just my 2 cent worth of opinions.

Being a mom myself I cannot imagine giving up the rights to my boys. No amount of money in this world is worth that to me. I would die before I would ever let them go. I feel so sad for those children. That is the real tragedy in all of this. Did anyone see the now released homemovies of them? They are so adorable.

Does that Gloria Alred woman ever take any low profile cases?

She's always all the over the t.v.

I think she likes the spotlight and the attention.
