Hi everyone,
I just got the book "Elvis in the Morning" by William Buckley from a book sale last night. Has anyone read this book?
I just grabbed the book when I saw the name "Elvis" and his picture in the cover, but didn't have any idea what it's all about. It seems fictional 'though.
Oh yes, unfortunately I've read the book. The only good thing I got from it was learning that Buckley was a closet Elvis fan. Not bad, not a lot of Elvis, Buckley did do the research so Elvis does come across as a believable Elvis. The book is about a young boy named Orson, who is influenced by a communist [? I forget], teacher. One funny part was when Orson steals Presley albums from the army PX, because, things like that should be given away, not sold. Not bad really, just not my cup of tea.
Oh, the book follows Orson thru his adult life where he has remained a close, but closet friend of Elvis.
Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
Thanks for the info Lisa. I might not read it after all, but I like the cover and title :-)
