    One Night Only

Okay, I know there is a separate thread in the import forum, but I found this gets a better result.
I just ordered the One Night Only CD from 11/10/71 off of ebay, and I'm wondering if I'll like it, or will I be disappointed? I wish it had some of the other songs from that tour, ie Lawdy Miss Clawdy, Are You Lonesome Tonight, It's Now Or Never, THe Impossible Dream, etc., but is it still worth it?

I think you'll enjoy this Madison release. It's a very good show. Here are some notes I found.

This fantastic concert has been previously released from the Captain Marvel label under the titel "The Power Of Zhazam", which includes some bonus tracks. Madison improved the sound quality!
A wonderful show with much passion and dynamic compared to the previous Vegas gig. Elvis was back on the road and he loved it ! A powerhouse performance with no weak spot. Just lean back and enjoy!
That aint tactics honey....that's just the beast in me.

This is a FANTASTIC show from 1971, and although I haven't heard the Madison release of this show, I am sure the sound quality is much improved over previous releases! The Madison import releases are usually top-notch!!

don't think he ever wore a red, black and white conquistador waikiki vulture suit?

Too bad I can't afford it, but.. 1971 is such an underrated year (and I wish I could have it). It's strange but live recorded material was hard to find - especially rare in comparison to 1968, '69, '70', '72, '73...

I found the whole concert on Youtube, however, it is not the Madison release, but it'll give you a taste of the concert.

The one I got off of e-baby was for 14.99, and live material is also easy to find from 74. It is weird though, as 71 was one of his best years.

Yes that's true, the performance in his own home town was "worthwhile" to say the least! Just strange the original album left out steamroller blues among other songs; as if we had never heard hound dog or suspicious minds more often...

If you want to understand the King better, you need to follow his footsteps. Every penny counts and just like him you have to be able not to shower for a week and still attract girls. Thank you for the indication though!
