Thread: Hmmmm.......

    Arrow Hmmmm.......

Elvis Presley was no fan of Scientology, the religion founded by sci-fi writer?turned?religious guru L. Ron Hubbard. "F--- those people!" the King once exclaimed. "They're just after my money and my name."

Ironically, they eventually got his name ? and, very likely, a large amount of his money ? thanks to his daughter, Lisa Marie. "Were it not for Scientology," she once declared, "I would be completely insane or dead by now."

Elvis can't be held responsible for anyhting that his daughter does. But Lisa also don't have to do things just to please her dad's fans. She is an individual, who is doing financially well thanks to those fans. But she has the right to live her own life and make her own decisions.

The choice to join or not join Scientology has nothing to do with fan's influence. Though Elvis himself loved his fans, they hardly had an impact on how he wished to live his life, so that argument is beside the point here. Had he lived he wouldn't have had a say in her, by now almost middle aged, life either. However, much of the money that allegedly went to Scientology was money either made by him, or by exploiting his likeness, name and talent. So it may have been her choice, but they got her before she started making her own money through her own productivity

..There were time Elvis said that Scientology was something he wouldn't get into.. from the book 'Child Bride' Elvis said " they're just after my money and my name ".. Priscilla was probably the one that introduce scientology to Lisa Marie... and i think if elvis alive , he would have "shit a brick" ... but now he is gone, he don't have any power to tell what his daughter should do..

In the other hand, the thought that his money is going to something he didnt like, sounds a little weird to me...where is the respect to Elvis from his daughter in this point ...

    Well, ....... I don't know ..............

To each their own ..... and whatever floats one's boat.

    Lisa has "Scientology" ............................

    Elvis had "Geller" ....................................

Not much difference, if you ask me.

Ah, but did Geller profit, monetarily, as much of Elvis as Scientology allegedly profits from his heirs?...... In other words: hmmmm

Elvis has long since had a influence on his daughters outlook, why should we bother where any of Elvis' money or that of his daughters go for that matter?
what is out there from the king is out there and we should be grateful, money has minimal effect on the kings workings, more has to do with EPE and how they can make money and what we the true fans can see, I don't really care how EPE make there money as long as i get to see everything, take note "I WANT TO SEE "ELVIS ON TOUR" AND THE "CBS SPECIAL" ON DVD AND DON'T CARE WHERE THE MONEY GOES"

cherokee.., I really don't understand why you started this thread. .but I respect you for displaying your opinion ..(as u seem 2 do alot on this board). My thoughts on this topic ..well..to me..religion is a very private part of my life, I wouldn't judge anyone on what they choose to "follow" everyone has there own little beliefs and ways, and I think this is a good thing, the world be a very boring place if we all had the same views and ways of living, Religions interest me..I enjoy reading about other "faiths". Cherokee Lisa is her own person, she does her own thing..she thinks with her own brain..as you and I do...im VERY sure I wouldn't believe in everything u have faith in neither ..that my dear is what makes us HUMAN.

Elvis grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can
and the wisdom to know the difference

Sigh, for someone who respects my displaying my opinion, you do have quite a condescending tone in your responses to me

Don't worry, I respect your right to express yourself that way.

Well....i just thought i should give u back what u dish out to others. Because your "tone" dosn't seem to be of a a very kind nature in my books neither, I DO NOT have a problem in you expressing your opinions as long as you respect other peoples too in a pleasant manner
