Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
This is from the new FTD "Elvis in Person at the International Hotel." I thought you might enjoy this, especially his banter at the start.

Hi "Cat Lady"
thought you might like to see the 69 International attendance records
(sorry if you have already seen this.)
Do you remember 2 ladies from England in Vegas (69-70-71) called
MARIA and GLADY'S DAVIES from Liverpool, AND the 3 long reports
Maria typed up of her trips (over 20 pages each).
Did you ever see them, or her Vegas feature reports..
I used to spend many hours with them talking about Elvis and his Shows
I eventually went in AUG-Sept 1972, and again in Feb '73, then followed
an almost 2 week tour in June 74(from Cleveland to Omaha) -I missed
going in 1975, mostly because Elvis was ill at the times I might have gone.
But did manage two more trips in March 1976 and 1977
Also managed a couple of dozen Candid views of Elvis mostly in daylight
during the Tour following trips.
I've enjoyed reading your Memories on the various topics on TCB
thankyou for sharing.. SincerELy Rex..
Attendance chart + plus 4th September 1972 Meeting Elvis with other British
Fans, and 2 girls from Sweden.
That was wonderful Rosanne! I love to hear Elvis talk. That was excellent.![]()
Wow Rex Martin you have some wonderful Elvis Stories to share. I love your photo of you with Elvis. How blessed to have all those memories. Feel free to share them anytime. Kim
Nice one, thanks![]()
I dream a world where man no other man
will scorn. Where LOVE will bless the earth
and peace its paths adorn...
Roseanne! Wow, you are getting great at these!
Rex Martin, thanks for sharing and welcome aboard!![]()
Just pretend, I'm holding you, and whispering things soft and low.
And think of me, how it's gonna be and just pretend I didn't go
I love this one - always loved this song!!!
Rex - I've heard of you - don't know where but I have. Were you a member of a fan club from Canada - I think the President's name was Paul???? Or maybe you've published a book???
Forever Best Friends
he does snort and cough a lot during this show
Great video and wonderful Elvis, thank you Rosanne!
Rex, welcome and thank you for sharing your memories, I'd love to hear and see more of them!

This is for the full 1969 Vegas 1st season (all the info~

up to the first week of the Season, -an on-going feature
with much more still to be added in the coming days....)
You need to log on to view all the pictures(many very exclusive)
~Nigel Patterson at ELVIS INFORMATION NETWORK ~
DID a phone interview with Rocky Barra (USA Strictly Elvis) last year.
(You can still read Rocky's interview at EIN)
I knew I was next on his list and in November he phoned me to set up
an Interview. **(Note: some of the pictures are down at EIN due to them changing
Network suppliers recently, they are slowly putting everything back together, my
4 Interviews can be read from the above Link and you will find links at EIN to my other
Elvis features, and the one about Maria Davies 1969 Vegas memories and info.)
In the 1970s he used to receive my
WORLDWIDE ELVIS NEWS SERVICE WEEKLY via his mailbox, so he always
felt my publication was important to the Elvis World.
The phone interview started 7am in Australia (8pm in England) and after
almost 2 hours, Nigel had to stop my Elvis Adventure Stories, due to
the fact he was going to be late for work- Ha! with many questions still
un-answered.
He had so much info to transcribe it had to be done in 3 parts on EIN
the 1st part in November, 2nd on Xmas Eve, a 3rd in Mid January and
then the Extra questions via Email from me in February 09.
If you want to know about my Life and the ELVIS QUEST please take a look
at my interview (I supplied a lot of Pictures to EIN to add to the interview)
After you have read it, please feel free to ask me about anything on
ELVIS that you would like in greater detail
I attended the Riot Show on the 18th Feb 73,
I got warned for Filming in Vegas by Tom Diskin on the 23rd Feb 73
(when I also had a Super 8mm copy of the Hawaii Show from Belgium TV
-almost 2 months before it was shown in the States)
- I had a portable floodlight in Johnson City, which
helped Len Leech(NJ) capture Elvis in a white ford LTcar, and the following
day in a Greyhound bus, on the Campus going into J.City. - and a lot of
other great things, trying to keep up with Elvis.
My ELVIS WEEKLY was published from the Early 70s up to Sept 78
(355 issues) it carries 100s of Newspaper reports, and almost complete
show reviews in Vegas and tours by Elvis fans, inspired by the fact they
could see their Story's in print in just One weeks time. So I have much
details on Elvis, his songs in each show, which jumpsuit was worn, what
matching belt, and scarf, And what he said.. Also we carried reviews
of all releases in the USA, with recording session details as they happened.
Hope you will look at the ELVIS INFORMATION NETWORK site for my
interview, I also supplied just a long report on 1969 Vegas by Maria Davies
with a 1000word article about my friendship with her.
A 3500 word article about ELVIS' TWO STARS ON HOLLYWOOD BLVD
a complete history
I have almost completed a very long Feature for EIN on the JAYCEES
AWARDS, including much indepth detail on all 7 Events Elvis attended
that day, with many photos, and graphics. Finally sorting out which
photo is from which event..
I have many other Investigative reports ongoing at
ELVIS THE KINGS COURT forum & website, going into great detail about
The HOUSTON ASTRODOME - 6 shows and the Two Press conferences
In depth Aug/Sept 1972, including how the 5th September Vegas
wasn't a press conference, but a Press Announcement, and a review
of all 3 NBC mini films of the event.
I have one of the Largest Elvis Film collections of Elvis outside the States
with many hours of Orig: film, (I took 26 hours of Elvis Shows myself from the 64 Elvis shows I got to see.)
I own 26 of the Hollywood movies on 16mm, and was the first to get
all the 68 NBC out-takes on 16mm film to show on large 14foot screens
in Europe. The 68 complete outtakes, aloha, rehearsal aloha and CBS
77, I have the Negatives, Magnetic tracks, Optical Sound Release Prints,
and some as COLOUR CORRECTED PRINTS.
Obtaining the film collection, is a long Elvis Adventure in its own right.
Thankyou for your interest. SincerELy .... Rex....

Rex,
All I can is "WOW"!!! To have been able to live like that back then was my dream! I was in 5th grade the first time I saw him 1970 at the Astrodome. Once my mother saw him there - she fell in love. For the next 7 years we saw him as much as we could. We went to Vegas 2/72, 8/72, 8/73 and 12/76. Kissed him twice, got 4 scarves and met him once in Memphis. Is The King's Court the same fan club that was around back in the 1970's? I was a member of The King's Court out of New York but recently found out that the 2 people who ran that one (back then) had passed on so I didn't know if someone else was keeping it going. I will be going back and reading about your experiences and will probably have tons of questions for you.
Here's my first question - were you at any of these shows and did you get any pictures?
2/14/72
8/18/72 (midnight show)
8/13/73 (both shows)
8/14/73 (both shows)
8/15/73 (both shows but especially midnight show)
12/11/76 (both shows)
12/12/76

Hi (doesn't seem right to call you TOTALLY INSANE-is that 100% Totally Insane? or just around the 50% some of the time..Ha! .. Oh! well..)
I seem to remember a couple of Kings Court clubs, one in Canada (by Rock
Caille, they had some great photos..) and the one you mentioned..
No this one started almost 4 years ago from Worcester in ENGLAND.
ELVIS THE KINGS COURT.COM
http://www.elvis-tkc.com/forum2/index.php?act=home
(to view the pictures almost half of the story, you will need to Register "which is FREE")
Its a great very FRIENDLY ELVIS site, that I have been having a lot of fun at.
You really need to look at the HOUSTON ASTRODOME TOPIC ~
http://elvis-tkc.com/forum2/index.php?showtopic=13966
(to view the pictures you will have to register "which is free"
(about 80 posts of all info. including a lot about the various Films of it in 1970)
Maybe you might like to add some extra bits yourself. (hope so)
From your Vegas list, we probably crossed paths in the Casino, during the
August 1972 season.(I was handing out a sample of my Elvis weekly that season - took around 1000 with me, even handed one to Elvis from the stage, brought 1 back which Kathy signed, and gave Elvis 3 bound copies backstage). I went with 3 English Friends for 14 shows from around
the 10th August, my first 4 shows close up by the stage, left of centre.
and then the rest in the Balcony (far right front at weekends) and Dead
centre front in the week, (B1,B2 or B3 small round tables with 2 chairs-
directly behind Bill Porter and the sound mixing desk just in front and below
me)
I never took pictures in Vegas (apart from 23rd Feb dinner show 1973 which is another story)
However I did take over 4 hours of Super 8mm film over the 27 shows I saw (Aug-Sept 72)
(at the end of the week, I didn't want to go home, so waved my 3 friends
goodbye, and moved in with 2 australians that had won a trip from RCA Australia -to LA~Vegas and the Elvis Shows, including staying at the Hilton)
So I saw all the various Shirt and pants outfits, with the White jacket and short capes, in August - after he pretty well split all the pants, he only wore the Jumpsuits in Sept 72, and because I stayed in Vegas (had to resign my job-because they had only allowed me 10 days unpaid holiday and I wasn't back at work)
Much to my surprise Tom Diskin waved for me to join him from the Balcony to the Showroom entrance, (on the final night) to take me backstage for my Elvis meeting.. The others had been taken back by Col. Parker....
Yes I would have filmed in the Balcony on the 18th August at both shows
(probably 12 to 15 minutes.) do you remember what colour shirt Elvis wore??
and which song you kissed him and got the scarf ???
Your other dates are all different to mine, although I have many friends
in England and Europe that went on those other dates, most have Tape
Recordings, some have pictures, and a very few film..
My 2nd trip was 5 months later in Feb 73. and then June 1974 tour
just to see If it was possible to follow a tour, with all the Seats sold out
and half my cheques for tickets returned, and could you really still get in
to see every Elvis show, having travelled 3500 miles, without a ticket for
my 1st show in Cleveland, and it was YES YOU COULD, AND CATCH AN
EARLY MORNING FLIGHT to keep up with him, and watch him leave hotels
drive into the Arenas and land (once) at an airport (Bloomington) just an
hour or so after I had. And then catch up on Elvis at Graceland(March76)
biking in and out of the Graceland Gates, seeing him standing with Linda
in the doorway of his smaller Lear jet, and then watch it flying circles over
his home. I hardly slept for a week, trying to keep up with him sometimes.
Yes please look at the ElvisINFORMATIONNETWORK website ~interviews and features and also if you have the time, my many Topics and Posts at
ELVISTHEKINGSCOURT website, I'm sure you will be inspired with many more
questions for me.. Thankyou for your interest.... SincerELy REX
EPS: I tried your U-tube video, but it is no longer available in the UK,
something to do with a copyright problem, not sure if you can still access
it in the USA, YouTube are having a dispute with our PERFORMING RIGHTS and
the British Phonographic Industry about payments for copyright material.

I love reading your stories. I'm about to leave but have to get this in here before I leave. On August 18 - he was wearing 2 piece, multi-colored shirt. We were sitting to the far right right at stage. I held up a little red scarf and he came and I handled it to him and he gave me a kiss. I was wearing a 2 piece white suit with fringe on the arms (YA'LL DON'T DARE LAUGH AT ME)!! I want to say it was during Love Me but after this many years I could be wrong. I think we were the last table on the right....do you have any of this on tape?
When I get back this evening I will be reading your stories - can't wait to read them. Me and a girlfriend from high school were in Memphis March 77 and saw him on his motorcycle - Ginger was on the back with him that time. I can just imagine how much fun you had chasing him all over the country - what I would have given to be just a few years older back then!!

Oh, and the "totally insane" part comes from I once heard a man say one time...
"For those of you who have never seen me will realize I'm totally insane"......
LMP has also stated she's totally insane.....that's where the name comes from.
Forever Best Friends
Thanks to everyone for the comments and a Big Thank You to Rex for all of the info you provided!
I can't wait to get started reading~![]()
My projector is out of action at present (Drive belts need replacing-and no
one seems to offer repairs on Old Super 8mm projectors anymore)
as soon as I can fix it, or pick up a replacement, will check out to see If I
was filming when your little Red Scarf was waving infront of Elvis' nose..
Yes I did tape that show (dinner and Midnight)
Two photos, from Orig: Slides (August 1972)
The more Multi coloured shirt, Elvis also wore with the White Pants, as
shown on the Green Shirt double picture.
This Green shirt, always shows up much darker on Photos, than it actually
was. Being much more vibrant, and brighter greens. I took out the Red
spotlights on the Left Picture, and enhanced it in various methods, so
that the RIGHT picture is much nearer to the actual colour this shirt was.
(Its also been made sharper with more clarity, than you usually see it.)
Sorry I moved this to 1972 -- so getting back to 1969
this ELVIS GIF I made for Maria's Feature on EIN (long banner version)
Can only upload it as a flat logo the orig: is 1.46MB Motion Animated Gif
but TCB world doesn't seem to be able to handle anything of that size)
The Portrait size Colourful Logo (A4 paper size) I made for a special folder booklet of Her 69 report.
