Very Thin Elvis in 1976 Video performing "You Gave Me A Mountain"

I know there's been a lot of discussion about Elvis' weight, but I found this video of Elvis performing in late 1976 and I couldn't believe how thin and energetic he was! Thought I would share it here.

Awww, thank you for both clips!!! Amazing!! I haven't seen them yet before. I love both songs! My 2 big favourites from him. It really seems to me that he lost some weight. And his jumpsuit was great!! Ohhhh, maybe it would not have been too late then to save him and help him in that time.

Yes, Elvis was really turning to something good in nov/dec 1976. The nov tour was great, just as Elvis spirit. The dec Vegas season was 'poor' one (comparing it with the quality of the nov tour), and the few shows at the end of the year also showed a (relative) healhty Elvis.

Too bad he couldn't maintain that level while he was at home again. Because the Elvis that returned touring in feb 1977 was about as heavy as he'd ever be.

Elvis in this video of finale of 1976 was the same weight what in 1974 also wear the same suit what in that year. Is him more slim what was in this period of his life November and Dicember of 1976. Unfortunate after go up a lot of weight again.

i think he was even thinner than late 1974 at the start of this tour, particularly in this suit.

I think when he met Ginger he became interested in things again, lost some weight, seemed very happy in 12/76 but unfortunately, it didn't last long. Very sad the way he just had no clue how deep he was into other stuff.

I don't know which one it is, but on some import-dvd the major part of this show can be seen. From a certain distance Elvis really looked good during this tour (on some close-up pictures he looks quite tired indeed), but his voice was good and he seemed to be more interested in his performances once again. He moved a bit more than during the previous concerts and seemed somewhat fitter. The show itself can be heared on CHICAGO BEAT and the concert is pretty good for a 1976 show.

Ah well. There's no point in losing weight without a long-term perspective. Elvis was active enough just touring the country, but his weight loss(es) in the 70's never seem(s) to have been (a) healthy one(s).

Some composers were actually a bit chubby, but it wasn't such a big deal back then. Of course they got wider by eating healthy products.

Elvis' weight problem seems to have been accentuated by the bloating of his face and there wasn't much he could do to avoid it from occurring every once in a while.
