"Elvis And Me" and reality

I was surprised when I saw in the movie "Elvis And Me" that women were running to Elvis on stage, but I've just found the other clip with the real Elvis and I realised that the movie was not even too far from reality. LOL... I thought I share both of them:

The man who played Elvis in the movie? YES, you're right, he wasn't even close to Elvis' personality I think. I thought about only the fact that some fans ran up to him on stage (when I wrote it was close to reality).

I saw several woman run on stage on 3-22-76 one blindsided Elvis and then a bunch of young (and not so young) began rushing on stage. One ended up hitting her head on the hardwood stage when security caught her mid flight and she toppled over.

I would just love to get my hands on that guy's wig! Everytime I see him in scenes from that movie it feels like "someone scratching their nails over a blackboard". I just cringe.

However Bettie, I know exactly what you were talking about and I do agree with you about the ladies at the show! I thought I saw a couple of actresses pretending to be Gail and Rosanne in that scene!

I don`t know how anyone could like the portrayal of elvis in that film.
It was completely one-sided and portrayed elvis in a very bad light and it also twisted the facts.
The scene showing elvis beating up currie grant for instance just didnt happen in reality and lots more.

I completely agree with you. The movie is so bad and one-sided that I'm still wondering if it was only made to sling mud at him or to make a victim of an ex-wife seeking her ex-husband's fans sympathy.
She has done such a great job keeping 'Elvis' legacy alive...

A lot of people did like the film

if you go to places like Amazon and imdb to read reviews you'll see that

no matter how bad a movie is there will be at least some people who will like it.

I thought the 2005 miniseries with Jonathan Rhys Meyers was the worst acted most inaccurate movie depicting Elvis. no way RhysMeyers deserved a Golden globe for it. He totally disrespected Elvis in his potrayal and in interviews afterwards but if you go to imdb.com they'll be people who praise his performance and the movie.
