So true. Definitely it has to do with the timing of this song that makes it so emotional. Also if it was only recorded live and not filmed it would not of had the same impact. This version of "My Way" in 1977 has to be seen sung by Elvis to really get the impact of how raw and emotional it was performed.
It is really hard to compare or put that version in the same category or the other times when Elvis just recorded "My Way".
My comments: I don't like the studio version at all. Live versions? I agree with a previous poster who says that musically, technically the '73 "Aloha" version is superior, but the '77 EIC version is song with much more emotion. For that reason I prefer the '77 version. It can bring tears to my eyes.

The studio version always seemed "constrained" to me-like he was not totally into it-but I like the video you did with it.

Thanks for sharing, I never heard the Studio version before, its nice to hear it as its a differnt version and slightly different arrangement on the piano. Everyone will have there own favourite, I liked it but Aloha does it for me...
