Count again. I'm talking about when she just says the word sick. I'm talking about her talking about him being sick.

    Hi
for the 5th September 1972 (2 or 3 am in the morning) the Aloha Announcement for NBC ~
Elvis had just finished 2 shows a night, for 4 weeks including a 3am show on the 1st Sept and meet I don't know how many fans, including myself the night before. (when he looked great - and really put on a wonderful last
    2 shows for everyone)

I think he had the right to look and feel a bit tired and weary, he was doing those Deep Breathing karate excercises.

The Houston Press Conference, he had been resting and been on a bit
of a holiday, arriving at Houston Airport at 11pm at night, not having
done any shows yet, to do that Great Press Conference (the first of 2)

And looking forward to being EVENT NUMBER 8 on the Rodeo Show Program.

Sorry just defending 1972 for Elvis.. SincerELy ... REX

The dates for the press conferences have always been a little mixed up
and reported wrong at the time, this is a true TIME LINE for the Elvis Events.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

23rd Feb. closes Vegas International Season

24th Feb (Elvis is a blank, but he usually sees next International Acts opening.)
Colonel Parker arrives in Houston with some of his Management Staff To check final arrangements for Elvis/Astrodome

    25th Feb
Elvis arrives late 11 pm (approx) at Houston Airport. Does the Press Conference. (as seen above) its the pictures of Elvis wearing the Red Shirt, with white sleeveless jacket. Elvis Does this Interview at the Airport.
I've had a High Quality 16mm film of this Interview since the mid 70s

26th Feb Elvis goes to the Astrodome, to see the place - do some sound checks and a few Rehearsals, - he is very unhappy about the sound
saying to Glen Hardin "just don't try to fight it" I'm pretty certain no press conference on this day....

(I should mention the Astroworld is a Really Very Large complex of Buildings, all the Major USA Hotel chains have built hotels in this Astroworld Area. At this time (Feb 1970) they all Said they are ASTROWORLD HOTELS, so 3 or 4 Motor Inns, 3 Holiday Inns & many others-are all Astroworld Hotels, which at the time was reported as a great deal of confusion for Elvis Fans.

So you can see even the most fanatical of fans would have some trouble finding out what might be going on, ahead of the 1st show.

    27th Feb 2pm and 7.45pm shows.

28th Feb 2pm and 7.45pm shows - Priscilla flies in late in the day, to see the 2 Elvis shows the following day

    1st -Mar 2pm and 7.45pm shows.

A 2nd PRESS CONFERENCE also held at the ASTROWORLD HOTEL.(between the 2pm and 7.45 pm shows on the 1st March) This is for all the Texans (with the Hats) to thank Elvis for coming to do the shows at the Astroworld, and give him the Rolex watch, and badge (that the Colonel demanded he should have one, so they did) ~we have a lot of pictures from this.

THIS Seems more like a CONGRATULATIONS "CONFERENCE" and not a Questions from the Press Conference.

I note at least 3 microphones on the table, but maybe a few Local press papers, just got invited to photo document the Honours given
to Elvis, including the Gold Awards, do we have any AUDIO OF THIS EVENT ??? ANYONE ???

I'M NOT NOW AS SURE OF THE TIME ??? I seem to have different times given from Between Shows (he does have plenty of time then)
    To after the final Show
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some details of the Rodeo event for the day..
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    HOUSTON ASTRODOME (EXTRA facts...)

The audience for any event can vary a lot. ~ For RELIGIOUS MEETINGS it is covered with Theatre style seating = up to 60,000

EVENTS EACH DAY for RODEO Show= 11 ~ ELVIS was EVENT Number 8.
*EVENT #7 = A CHUCK WAGON RACE around the Rodeo arena area.

(This was done because it would divert everyones attention, while they got Elvis out of the Bus into the Open Top Red Convertible)
*First (for each show) They would tow the Circular Stage into position, the technicans connected up the cables.(from the Roof)
*The Stage revolved not in a complete circle but made an 80 degree turn to the left & then the same to the right.

*Suddenly the lights went out and the Spot Light was focused on the Red Car! Elvis was then Driven onto the Field ~
*The Vehicle cruised quite fast, anti-clockwise around the outer area of the Rodeo field, close to the Front Rows of the circle.
*From a Front Row seat Elvis Passed only a few feet away from you, for a Brief moment (very exciting Show Part)
"ELVIS was standing up next to the Driver, waving as he passed by.

*ELVIS ALMOST COMPLETED A FULL CIRCULAR DRIVE AROUND THE RODEO AREA
*THEN the Open Top car turns towards the centre of the Field.
*At the Stage Elvis exits onto the Rodeo surface, walks up a few steps onto the Stage.

That is not fair on UTMOM2008.

You should know that Elvis was indeed sick for the red-shirt press conference in '70, having contracted a heavy cold / flu during his recent Vegas stint.

He was sick for that press conference.

Yes, but it's patently obvious that his demeanour can be almost solely put down to his medications during that press conference.

How do you know? What makes you the expert? And if that was true why would he say it was just fresh air?

Are you kidding me? Any serious fan knows this.

    Read the biographies.

He had the flu at the end of the February '70 Vegas gig, and he was still ill for Houston.

He was also sick for the recording sessions in Memphis around the same time in 69 as well.

Indeed he was; another fact that fans would normally know.
