Hello:
I noticed an auction in NYC from "Got to have it collectibles" taking place now until next Wed. It includes some of Elvis' personal belongings such as the Madison Square Garden Jumpsuit - current bid is $ 100,000.
Agree with you Tony on the jumpsuit, it just doesn't look right.
These days, we often hear on the news or read in the papers regarding auction winners buying items thought to be genuine but later proved fake. Whether this item is authentic or not , only time will tell. According to a an employee of the Antique Collectible Channel, the owners of Gottahaveitcollectibles appear to be sound dealers in Antiques and collectible items. They have been used on the tv program a number of times. I first saw the jumpsuit mentioned in the NJ Daily News newspaper.
It just looks like it's never been worn imo.
Kathy Parkinson: Yes, I agree, it does look pristine for 36 years and not kept in vacuum tight container. Ofcourse that is based on just the visual from a webpage.
Museums at times end up displayng items (like the recent Picasso paintings) that ae found to be fraudulent, so what chance does the average consumer have?
The auction site is not too far from where I walk so perhaps I can see it for myself tomorrow.
I might go take a look at it for you guys. Lets see if I got the time to do it.
"When I was a child, ladies and gentlemen, I was a dreamer. I read comic books, and I was a hero in the movie. So every dream that I ever dreamed has come true a hundred times. I learned very early in life that without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend; without a song. So I keep singing a song." - Elvis Presley
They had a paire of aviator glass,s ? well you could tell just buy looking at them that![]()

The "Wheat Suit" looks fine to me. Remember this is a suit that was used only a few times. Even some of the suits that are on display at Graceland that were used more frequently look in a good state....
Where are you guys seeing this? Do you have a link?
