I always liked the slow version of this song better than the fast version. So I decided to make a video to it.
The song was recorded in 1968 and is a new version of the old standard "Greensleeves". Elvis and the band had a difficult time recording this song with its somewhat halting rhytmic structure. When one of the guitarists played a wrong chord, Elvis was quick with some well-meaning sarcasm: "Everybody's entitled to one stupid-*** mistake"
Finally they decided to abandon the slow tempo in favor of a more up-tempo arrangement.

Thanks Chester for this video ! Just like you I prefer the slow version of this song. The legend says that "Greensleeves" was writen by the king Henry VIII. A song of a King for the King of rock'n'roll ?![]()
