    Played this song for my wife, (who's not really a fan) and she loves it. So haunting. so out of character for Elvis, but beautifully done. It was also recorded around the time his marriage started to experience trouble.

    I was away when this thread started but I agree, there's something special about this one.
    I've always liked the reflective chords and acoustic guitar line.

    I totaly agree it is avery underated song, RCA should have done more with it at the time.Elvis at the time wanted it to be a title for an album in 1971.

    It's one of those songs that you really "listen" to instead of singing along. I love watching him sing it, too. Seems to really feel it.
    While on that subject....has anyone ever seen another artist so obviously passionate about their music as Elvis was? Not one comes to my mind.
    But, I'd really like to hear some possible candidates!
