Devil in Disguise

Hi

What does everybody think of the song Devil in Disguise?

I like the song alright but some criticize the song for not being fast paced and gritty enough at a time when pop music was starting to change again. I see there point.

Though I still like the slow and fast tempo changes in the song as it's something different from Elvis other rock n' roll songs

I liked the duet version between Chris Issak and Leann Rimes a few years ago too.

Does anybody have any thoughts on this song?

And here is the duet what you mentioned... I loooove it!!! And it seems the place is the same where Elvis did the Comeback Special in 68. The footage was broadcasted in 2002, at Elvis' 25th anniversary...

one of my alltime favourites.
To me it was written like he almost knew how his angel would apparently become the devil in disguise.... (sorry)

Always liked the song...I thought the "attack" to "laid back" effect worked really well.....I`ll admit it does sound a little "light" at times...doesn`t bother me though!

John Lennon was on this U.K. version of an American Bandstand type show in 1963 called Juke box jury where they played Devil in Disguise for him and he voted the song a miss. He didn't like the song and said Elvis sounded like Bing Crosby.

I disagree with Lennon that Elvis' singing sounded like Bing Crosby.

me personally I've always felt this song deserved to be a #1 hit in the U.S.
as your'e right Devil in Disguise isn't too far removed from the hit songs coming out of America at the time and I feel that it's a better song than all the one's you listed.
