Another question for those who have seen Elvis live

My question to you is this:
How did the stage and stage lightings look like when Elvis stepped onstage? There's not too much in any footage capturing this. I mean the stage during '2001' and then how the spots came together and people were standing up jumping. How did it look like in Vegas? When did the curtain open up? Any special lighting effects or anything? Did the spots came together slowly or they just hit the back of the stage? Stupid question maybe but I'm just curious.
    Poke a little sock salad...

All I can tell you from my one time in seeing him live is that the flashbulbs were going off so fast from the audience it was like a strob light so it interfered with knowing how the lights on stage looked. The flashbulbs continued for much of "See See Rider" and lessened through the show but never completely stopped flashing.

I wish all of those pictures would be released, considering there is a picture for each flash.

My brother took 12 photos and none of them came out-probably we were to far back.

That's exactly what the concerts were like, a strobe light effect there were so many flashes. Las Vegas however was the total opposite...NO camera's allowed. The only light was the big light following him back and forth across the stage as he "greeted" the audience, and then on to the microphone for the opener.

That's the way it was at the Oakland Coliseum and the Sahara Tahoe as well. Before Elvis came on, the lights went down then came the big light that hit him when he entered just before he got to center stage and it followed him around greeting the audience. Afterward, there were a few more lights that came on but the room was still very dim except for the stage lights.
