well can't say i ever noticed i will need to look at some pics and get back to you on that one
Okay, has anyone but me noticed that Elvis seemed to have a smaller body frame in 1956-1971, but in November he suddenly seemed to be larger (not overweight, but just a larger frame) Is this just an illusion the suits of the time created or is there something else behind this, or am I just crazy?

Yeah I've never really noticed either.
he put on weight![]()
LETS BE FRIENDS!
Yeah, he did put on a little weight, but it was nothing like from early 1973 to mid-1973.
Best example I could find. He doesn't look heavier in the second, just looks like a larger frame.

ELVIS STILL LOOKS PRETTY GOOD IN THIS PHOTO. HE MAY NOT LOOK AS THIN AS IN 1969/70 BUT HE CAN STILL SHOW OFF HIS CHEST WITH GREAT EFFECT!!
I also think he put on some weight after 1970...![]()
But I noticed when I saw "Elvis On Tour" and "Aloha From Hawaii" that he lost much weight for the Hawaiian concert in my opinion.... Then I think he started to put on weight again... I think he always had wide shoulders.
I LOVE

yes he does look more muscular across the chest and shoulders in my photo.
The cut of the shoulders in the jumpsuits could have been changed after 71.
In 72 he was not rail thin but he was not overweight and the suits would have been adjusted for broader chest, thicker build overall.

Hmm... I think he lsot weight in early 1974. Look at the pix. from March 5 especially.
I think another possibility is that he wore lifts in his shoes which also gave the impression that he was taller, larger and he wore different boots which had a different heel, all of which contributed to his 'change in appearance' at this time. There is certainly a difference in his proportions when you compare 69-70 to 71-72.

Steve Martin told a story on Johnny Carson of meeting Elvis in the 70s-Martin was opening for Ann Margret in Vegas and he met Elvis after a show. He told Carson that Elvis was a big guy- like 6ft 2in.......that shows how the boots adding the height gave the "big" appearance.
Martin said Elvis told him "Son, you have an oblique sense of humor."![]()

Elvis looked Lean and mean in Aloha. He shed quite a lot of weight and went out into the sun a lot,to prepare himself and the world for Aloha..but after that he did start to gain it all back,as far as his stature looking larger in the 70's I can't say that I noticed that, heavier yes,but I do not recollect him looking larger in height or frame.I will certainly look at photo's though to compare.
