Thread: Do you think

    Do you think

I've heard several concerts or shows where Elvis probably wasn't feeling 100%. Sometimes people sound better or sexier when they are a little under the weather. So I was just wondering do you think that Elvis sounds better, worse, about the same or depends on how sick he was?

He always sounds sexy in health and in illness.

    Re: Do you think

I can't say he was better but neither worse.

Sure for me it depends on how sick he was...I'm not happy when I listen to some concerts where he didn't remember words

Mostly agree with you on not remembering the words. But sometimes you just forget no matter how many times you've done it. I'm a flight attendant and have been for three years and honestly sometimes I forget the annoucements. It happens. We're all human.

I agree..it can happen to everybody but in Elvis' case you sometimes can notices it's because he seems absent to what he was doing

    Re: Do you think

I have to agree with the majority here....it really depends on how sick he was on a particular night, and of course, what he was sick from...

If it was from some sort of a medication issue, then the performances could vary from a very short and to the point show (like some '77 shows) to a much longer performance with many long-winded monologues (like the Vegas shows from Aug./Sept. '74 or the infamous closing night show from Sept. '73 in Vegas).

But, if Elvis was ill from a cold or something, then usually (to me) his singing seemed to suffer a bit, such as the case with several of Elvis' January '71 Vegas shows.

IMO more often than not he did. Even in the later years when his health was bad.
