    Who was in the Vegas Showrooms?

    These were in the Dallas paper during August of 1972 and 1973. Back then, BEFORE the internet, the papers would run this in every Sunday edition so you would know who was in Las Vegas at that time!

    Why did they advertise in Dallas papers who was in Vegas? Did all the papers do that? I am just curious because on the map Vegas looks kind of far from Dallas. Did your family fly to Vegas or drive? How far away was it from where you live? I love the things you are showing us......keep em coming!

    Las Vegas was a huge tourist attraction...back then people went for more than just gambling. Lots of people planned their entire trip around who was in the showrooms. I would think this was advertised in all big city newspapers.

    We flew the first 2 summers..the summer of 1973 we drove. That was the best trip I've ever been on! We went to Palm Springs for a few days, LA for a few days, San Francisco for a few days, Lake Tahoe for a few days and then came into Vegas on Sunday, August 5th. Elvis would open the next night!
