Do the lady sitting there own that place now? It looks so beautiful inside.
No, that's a friend of mine. The couple that did own the home were in the army and they have since sold it. They were the nicest couple. They gave us each an extra brick from the home. My girlfriend got either a pink sink or a pink toilet (can't remember which it was) that was in the bathroom that was in there when he leased the home.

Thank you for posting these fabulous pictures,Gail.
The One and Only King of Rock'n'Roll.
Elvis' house was pretty small for a rich millionaire.![]()
So was the house on Audubon Drive in Memphis.I don't know how much time you may have spent in Killeen, Texas in the late 50's, but for the town and the year this was a very nice house. It was only a temporary situation anyway, I don't know why anyone would think he needed a big estate.

I never been to Texas and never have really wanted to go. The house he owned in Memphis before he bought Graceland was what he could afford back then. He hadn't "hit it big" yet. Despite being humble, Elvis was still about luxury, and shiny bling. As big as Graceland was, his home in CA was bigger. That was my point.
Great pics of a lovely place. Thanks for sharing.![]()
Let the stars fade and fall, and I won't care at all, as long as I have you.

Any more?
Great pictures, thank you Gail!
the california home is palm springs. i was the caretaker. the photo over the couch is mine. all the photos in the home are mine.
I agree. This was the home I was talking about out in CA. Notice how much more spacious the room was compared to any room at Graceland.
Yes, but do you realize it was about 10 years between the house in Killeen while he was temporarily stationed at Ft. Hood and the contemporary house here in Palm Springs that he used all of the time while he was making movies? Completely different circumstances. In fact, the Killeen house was really for his parents and Lamar and Red. Elvis spent much time on base and manuevers.
Too bad. Its a great place!!!!!!!!! And Killeen has come eons since Elvis was there in the late 50's. Today is it quite different.I never been to Texas and never have really wanted to go.
